Dr. Michael Drew Duffin, MD

Dr. Duffin was extremely thorough, and he listened to my concerns. He spent alot of time with me on my first visit, and I would highly recommend him. His staff are outstanding as well.

Very poor experience overall, unprofessional, poor bedside manner. 1.Judgemental, even on a personal level 2.Jumps to assumptions rapidly without looking at all available data. 3.Made a false assumption/judgement 4.Rushed through the appointment speaking rapidly. 5.I realized after a few minutes that he was not actually listening to what I said, because he jumped to a conclusion like he only heard two words and made up his own story 6. On a previous appointment he told me about an event and made a unnecessary comment about a young female that revealed misogyny. 7. The hippocratic oath that good doctors follow says do no harm. I had the opposite experience. 8. Not following professional protocol in an aspect of my care There is more but that's enough.

Dr. Duffin was awful to me. I found him to be sexist, lazy, and invalidating. He didn't want to listen to me. He had a questionnaire that he read off of and he only wanted me to say "yes" or "no." If I tried at all to explain anything or give further details, he wasn't interested and shut me down. He also would pause any time I said yes to anything and say, "ALL women think they have xyz, but they're just exaggerating." I felt like he didn't believe a word I said because I was a woman. He also second guessed the fact that I've been diagnosed with Renaud's by another doctor, because I didn't describe my experience with it based on his ridiculously specific criteria (I didn't remember the order that my fingers changed color correctly, BECAUSE of the fact that I have severe brain fog, which he also dismissed because ALL WOMEN say they have brain fog). Based on what my GP said, she thought I needed to be tested for multiple autoimmune and rheumatological diseases, but because I didn't fit… his questionnaire's criteria, Dr. Duffin only tested me for one. My geneticist was appaled when he heard this, and he ended up testing me for the diseases that Dr. Duffin failed to and I got some positive diagnoses. Dr. Duffin 100% failed me. Leaving his office I felt like I had wasted my time and money because of his negligence. Do not go to him.

For a 45 minute appointment, most of it was taken up with him telling stupid anecdotal stories that wasted my time. I know much more about my EDS-HT disease and management than he does or ever will know. Highly disappointed.

I have been seeing him for at least 12 years he is gentle, courteous and a good guy...If your appointment time runs over he is being kind and gentle and giving his special care to someone like you! Be patient!

Very caring, knowledgeable Doctor!!! :)

He is one of the most caring doctors that my elderly mother is seeing. He listens attentively and even encourages questions. He follows through with every situation from refill requests to authorizations for certain medical procedures. I would definitely recommend him for anyone who has a rheumatology condition.
