Dr. Michael Hobart Ebert, MD

Dr. Ebert would often not return my calls for weeks about refills or setting up appointments. He would call me back and tell me he was on vacation or at a conference but never gave any notice and apparently doesnt have voicemail. The biggest issue I have with him is that when I started with him I was on Klonopin for anxiety. He never once talked to me about its addictive properties or that I should consider tapering off of them. I am now looking at months of agonizing withdrawal because his medical knowledge is outdated.

Guy never calls you back

Dr. Ebert was my therapist and medication provider for more than four years... He was a nice man but was very unreliable with his time. Finally, after agreeing to mail me my anti-depressant medications, he disappeared without doing so and I was forced to go off my medications- simply because this doctor did not have the time or the inclination to do his job. I would avoid seeing him at all costs. Any other doctor who takes the time to get back to their patients would be an improvement. Do not make a first appointment - you will be let down and potentially put in a terrible position.

I have moved a lot and seen several psychiatrists over the past 8 years but Dr. Ebert is by far the best doctor I've had. I moved again 2 hours away from him but I have put up with traveling to see him once a month because he is that great of a doctor. He genuinely cares about his patients and he really listens to you. I also tend to get very nervous when I go to any doctor but I don't feel nervous when I visit Dr. Ebert because he speaks to me like I am a normal person rather than some crazy person. He is very wise and gives me great advice and has really helped me gain a more calm perspective on life. He is a very laid-back man and I love that I don't get that uptight, judgemental doctor attitude from him which I have experienced before. Also, as a female I never pictured myself having a male psychiatrist before but it has obviously worked out well. I highly recommend Dr. Ebert if you are looking for a psychiatrist who listens to you and makes his best effort to understand and help… you.

Very pleasant at first but doesn't particularly care to do any work and holds a grudge.
