Dr. Michael Samuel Epstein, MD

Went to him in my 20’s with symptoms of weight gain, feeling unwell, vomiting non stop after certain food/drinks etc..was told by him to eat better..he did an endoscopy only..missed a tumor by not doing a colonoscopy..I ended up in ER with same symptoms a year later, was given another drs name at another practice, who suggested I may have A colon blockage and saved my life. I would’ve had stage 4 colon cancer had I not gotten sick again and seemed additional help after being dismissed by dr Epstein. It’s been years since I’ve seen him and I still cringe when I hear his name.

Dr. Epstein explanations have always been clear and "user friendly" no medical jargon that you have to research to find the answer. After a procedure, you get a written account, often with color pictures included. Follow-up appointments are made in a timely fashion. The office atmosphere is conducive to helping you relax before you see him for appointments.

If it weren't for Dr. Epstein, my mom would have died from rectal cancer most definitely so I thank God he advocated on her behalf. Many think you don't need to start getting screened for colon cancer until you're age 50, there's a lack of awareness unfortunately. My mom was in her late 40's when she was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. I have to get screened every 5 yrs. since I have an extensive family hx of colon cancer, mostly on my mom's side. He's also helped get to the bottom of why I was having digestive issues among other symptoms. I ended up getting diagnosed with NASH, a fatty liver condition that is pretty serious and can lead to needing a liver transplant if you don't keep it in check. He's a pretty thorough doc with a passion that truly amazes me! I don't know how he does what he does. His job takes a lot of time and energy. He gets to the bottom of what's ailing you that may be related to his specialty. I also found out that am a gene carrier of hereditary… hemochromatosis. Better to know than not and I'm glad that he's my doc b/c I feel like I'm in good hands.
