Dr. Michael Anthony Fistek, DO

Don't waste your time! I phoned the office twice to verify if Dr Fistek was accepting new patients. Both times I was told yes, but I would need to speak to the New Patient Coordinator to proceed. I phoned the New Patient Coordinator, Marissa, she was very nice and helpful. She explained that she would take some information and forward to Dr Fistek. He would review the information and then Marissa would call me back to schedule an appointment. I was calling on behalf of my husband and two adult sons to make appointments as they were in need of a new PCP. So, I gave Marissa all of their information. Name, DOB, Address, Phone Number, SSN, Insurance Info, and Health History. I received a call back from Marissa a few days later informing me that she was told by Dr Fistek's office that he was no longer accepting new patients and that no other providers in the office were accepting new patients. The office had sent back to her ALL of the new patient files she had sent over. I was upset… since I had verified ahead of time and given them all of the personal information that they requested in order to schedule a new patient appointment. Marissa suggested that I call the office manager, (Sarah) to discuss my frustration. I spoke with Sarah and shared my story. She said "It's not that Dr Fistek is not accepting new patients, it's that he is not accepting YOU as a new patient. He has the right to accept or deny any patient he wants. He doesn't give us any reason as to why he does or does not accept a patient." Obviously, by Sarah's response this happens frequently. I can tell you that there is no valid reason why a doctor would deny my husband or sons as patients. They are all healthy and have great insurance coverage. This leads me to believe that Dr Fistek is either: 1.) Discriminating against patients. (In this case all three white men.) 2.) Only accepting female patients, which would obviously be creepy. 3.) Collecting personal information for a reason other than accepting patients. In any case, Dr Fistek is not practicing medicine to help people or he would not be denying patients for no apparent reason when he has new patient openings available.

Excellent doctor! Takes time to listen. Concerned about my overall health. Thoughtful and measured recommendations for treatment.

I found Dr Fistek very thorough and spent time reviewing testing and Meds.

Dr Fistek is an outstanding all round DO. He is very caring, kind and quick to take care of your health issues. I highly recommend Dr Fistek.

Dr. Fistek was very professional but personable. He took his responsibility very seriously in assessing my situation and was thorough in questioning what previous doctors told me.

Dr Fistek is very stiff and not compassionate. very unprofessional.
