Dr. Michael M Fox, MD

Saw Dr. Fox at a clinic for a disability physical. He was very rude, did not pay attention during my range of motion, straight up was the rudest individual I've ever come across period. Lied on his report to ssa multiple times in a short report. I reported him to the state board and will leave him the review he deserves on every site I find forever. Find someone else, this clown shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine anywhere, not even 3rd world countries.

I contacted this establishment to set an appointment for my partner. I called twice and the second time a lady by the name of Renee answered the phone. She randomly burst out that she had tried to call me back, but my voicemail was full. She then continued to scold me and tell me that I need to clear my voicemail if I am calling someone and expecting a call back. She stated that she has “had to tell several individuals this over the last 2-3 days.” I responded by telling her that if “she/the business would have answered the phone originally, she would not have had to call me back.” She then stated, “Well I will tell you what, how about you think about what I just said and give us a call back…” I hung up the phone and drove to the location and asked to speak with the Office Manager to inform them of what was going on, receive clarity on this situation and give this business a chance to rectify this situation. She rudely told me that she was the office manager and that she would not… speak with me. I informed her that if she refused to speak with me, I would file a complaint. Again, she rudely pointed to the door and told me I could leave. She was dismissive and refused to communicate with me. So here I am taking out time from my busy schedule to file a complaint with every single company or agency that handles health care investigations due to the behavior that this facility allows. If she is the office manager and she is acting as rude and disrespectful as she was especially in front of two other individuals who witnessed this behavior, this clinic needs to be aware of how the front office is handling their patients and potential patients. I am sure I am not the first. There was no sense of customer service. It seems like this woman feels she is irreplaceable or does not have to provide proper customer service because no one will ensure she is properly reprimanded. Especially in a healthcare facility in the middle of a pandemic. Per the TN Department of Health, “The majority of health professionals are competent, caring individuals. Most persons are satisfied with the level or quality of care they receive. However, when a problem is experienced with either a health care professional or health care facility, you have the right to report them.” I have reported this establishment through several avenues.

I have never been right since he for sure messed me up. I have had nothing but trouble since he operated on me.

After being treated by him for several months I still had pain and he didn't seem concerned. He did a colonoscopy and did not get rid of my polyps. He told me to come back in a year and he would then. I was upset about that and went to another doctor and had a second colonoscopy and this Dr. was appalled that Dr. Fox would leave polyps in a person. It turned out I had 3 polyps and the severe pain I had been dealing with for so long was a fissure which Dr. Fox overlooked.

I knew when I walked in the office that I should not have been there. Aesthetically, it is a very unprofessional environment. HIPPA was violated so many times I lost count. Sign in sheet had everyone’s first and last names written out upon check- in. No measures were taken to be discreet or keep my name private - I had to write it on a sheet for all other patients to see and she called my first and last name out loudly several times and the entire waiting room could hear. Not only is his bedside manner nonexistent, he proceeded to talk down to me as if I couldn’t understand English or wasn’t educated enough to understand what he was saying. He injured me badly. I cried out, yelping in pain as he examined me. He then ripped his finger out so fast I literally felt like he was ripping me open and injuring me further. It was obvious upon initial investigation that I had a serious, painful case. He acted surprised that it hurt so badly. I was appalled. I felt violated. No apology on his… end. I will never step foot in that office again unless it is to get my medical records. No where have I ever been treated so rudely. Do not go to this physician. Find someone more reputable.

I agree with the previous comments regarding the appearance of the office. It's very jarring upon first entering. It looks vacant and messy, and there was only one person there sitting out front (the receptionist). Everything is done manually. My co-pay fee was charged on my debit card manually with carbon paper, the sign-in sheet I signed was a blank piece of paper with a handwritten "Sign-In" title at the top, and my next appointment (which I cancelled afterwards) was scheduled by writing the date and time on a sheet of paper. It actually felt like an out of body experience. To top it off, and as others have said, the receptionist and Dr. Fox come off as blunt/rude.. Both were acting like they were in a big rush, when a) I was the only person in the office and b) I had to wait over 40 minutes to even see him. I understand being no frills, but I also expect a doctor to be somewhat personable. I wouldn't trust my health with a rude dentist, heart surgeon, etc., so why would you trust… your health with someone who acts too busy to be bothered with patients in any other setting?

No beating around the bush. Strictly business and I like that.

Went to initial office visit with my son yesterday and was just uncomfortable with their setup, I agree with one reviewer that it doesn't have to be a plush office with big flat screens. coffee etc. but I do expect a level of professionalism, the receptionist, nurse, office manager, custodian person Renee is borderline rude. I felt like we were rushed thru, she even mentioned several times that they were just super busy, they scheduled 60 patients in one day. We decided that we would seek out another doctor.

When I first knew that I had a problem and needed a specialist, I called on a Monday morning at 6:30am expecting to get a voice mail to find out what their hours were and Dr Fox answered. I described what type of pain that I was dealing with and he told me to get there as soon as possible and he would see me. Good thing because he had to admit me same day for emergency surgury. Some people may not like that he only has one person on staff, to me it's awesome because it's not a mill where they run as many patients in as possible. You get personalized service where they know your name, not patient # 1984. In his specialty I don't think you want " need for speed ", take your time and watch the hardware!
