Dr. Michael Gene Gaines, MD

This is the second time I have gone to the cares in Oxford alabama, and have seen this doctor both times he comes in to the room to see you and acts like you are not important or anything. Gives you your test results and doesn’t even listen to your heart or look in your throat or in your ears knowing that is the reason for your visit . He leaves the room and send nurse back to give you a shot or just paper work to leave . I questioned the nurse and ask her was he not going to check ears throat and heart and said he should have . Well he hasn’t I told her. So I told her to give me my discharge papers and I would just leave . Well the past two time. I have had to pay almost 600.00 to this dr office and you would think They would at least give you More than 3 minutes of their time . But no not this dr . I will not be back again seeing they are charging you with service they have not provided . And I will be getting in touch with my insurance about my charge for today 2 12 2019. This is a… sorry excuse for a health care providers and hope no one will have to see this sorry excuse for a dr.

Dr Gaines is nothing more than rude, condesending, and arrogant. I was diagnosed with strep throat and was only given a penicillin shot in the office with no antibiotics to take home. Despite having pain, pressure, and what felt like fluid moving around in my ear for a week, he swore that there was no fluid. Three days later I went to the ENT where the appointment had been scheduled prior to going in to CARES. The ENT confirmed that, just as I thought, there WAS fluid in the ear. When I told him what Dr Gaines had said, he told me that anybody would have to be blind in order to not be able to see it! Never again will I see Dr Gaines. I will call the office prior to going and if he is the doctor on duty there that day I will drive right past it to go an extra 10 miles to see another doctor at the Anniston CARES.
