Dr. Michael Garbee, MD

I rarely enjoy a doctor visit but I did when I saw Dr, Garbee. He was so down to earth and easy to talk to. He was very attentive and asked me questions that no other doctor has. He took me off of some medications that I was on for years that didn’t help and I feel like a new person. He told me about some lifestyle changes that I needed to make and he was so right! I wish someone had told me these things years ago. He is also very funny. He had me laughing so hard. How often do you actually enjoy seeing your doctor? Thank you Dr. Garbee! You helped change my life for the better!!

Dr. Garbee was kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I am new to Pensacola and have worked in healthcare for 25 years as a Director of Rehabilitation and have known many physicians. My brother, who has intellectual deficits and autism, had 2 strokes 4 days after moving to Pensacola. He explained to my brother his complex diagnosis in terms he was able to understand and showed compassion towards him and myself like no other neurologist I've come across professionally or personally. On a scale of 1 to 10...Dr. Garbee gets 100!!

He listened to what my fears were and helped me take care the most important things first. I have even trusted him with my husband and father. When my son comes back from school in Texas he will take of his seizure control as well.

With multiple sclerosis, it is tough to find a neurologist willing to listen to your own research, experience and preferences. I was blessed enough to find that in Dr. Garbee. After 2 neuros, only willing to push medications and tell me what a mistake it was to go "natural", Dr. Garbee was a breath of fresh air. He listened to me, my previous research and my ideas. He praised my taking control of my disease and unwillingness to immediately accept the "science" of MS medications. He, of course, discussed meds with me as an option at each visit, but that's part of his job, and he put it out there as only an option, because my "disease course is so mild, and [I] know what ins doing. Unfortunately, he is no longer at this clinic, and I have yet to be able to find him anywhere else. If I should find him; I will be visiting him instead of the new neuro the clinic put me with, if at all possible. It's too rare to find neuros, or even general doctors like him, and I'm not willing to give that… up if I can avoid it.

Was engaging. Evaluated while putting me at ease in conversation. Encouraging as how to handle/adjust to prognosis of life changing issues. Led me to seeking out psychiatric care without making me feel dismissed or weak.

I could not have ask for a better doctor. He makes you feel at ease. He spends a lot of time talking to you. He's really the most down to earth doctor I have ever seen, besides my general physician, that was my doctor from the time I was 3 years old until a couple of years ago. Dr. Garbee was never arrogant with me or talked down to me. I would recommend him to anyone!!

I'm a retired nurse and have worked with many Dr.s. Garbee is the most unproffessional and arrogant person I have met. My Neurologist had to retire due to health problems. My 1st & last visit with Garbee consisted of him critizing my previous MD.HE said that she(my prev. md)was a morbidly obese homosexual, and she and her trashy staff were just drug pushers. He just ranted on & on.He never ask how I was, nor did he do any neuro checks. I had copies of my last two MRI studies, hebarely glanced @ them saying that he didn't even know if they were compared studies! I told him they were, & it stated that on the report. He c/o NO ONE knew where the old records were.I picked up a copy the next day, but I kept them, I WILL NOT go backto himm! total JERK....
