Dr. Michael Dean Gauwitz, MD

Being 72 year old, I never wrote an opinion about any doctor. Ever. Perhaps because I never been impressed with one or/and, because I rarely go to the doctors. That is, until another day, when I met Dr. Gauwitz. I was impressed. First of all, he was ready to see me. He didn't read my file until I was in his office. When he walked in, he was 100% prepared to share with me his opinion/diagnosis in detail. Then, he didn't cut my visit short to see another patient and instead spent an extended time with me explaining in detail my problems and his treatment plan. He clearly demonstrated what term "doctor" means: it's a call and not just another job. I don't have enough words to describe his level of professionalism, combined with compassion. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Dr. Gauwitz.

I have been a basket case,I have breast cancer. After meeting with Dr. Gauwitz I am at total ease.He explained everything in detail with compassion. I actually slept for the first time in 6 weeks knowing i am in the hands of a wonderful and compassionate Dr. His staff was just as kind as him. He should be teaching other Doctor's bed side manners.If you are nervous with the radiation process He will give you peace of mind. Good luck to everyone with cancer.

Dr. Gauwitz treated me for prostate cancer. From day one his care and compassion for the mind and the body was evident. His team at the Lykes Center at Morton Plant helped make the every day treatment manageable. That's hard to do for 45 days. Always available. Always responsive.

Love him love him love him and I only met him once. I am so glad he is my moms doctor for her radiation treatments. She is in great hands. The best doctor I have ever met . He sure makes his patients and their families feel reassured that he will do the best he can to help them throughout their treatment plan. He was so very kind and so was his sweet nurses.We need a lot more doctors like him.

My mother who is 83 has re-incurring skin cancer. My mother feels so at ease with the Dr. and his entire staff. They are so helpful and calm and take the time to explain options. My mother always says the same thing about him "he is my favorite gentle doctor who always worries about how cold his hands are on me, he is so sweet"
