Dr. Michael Gerard Gilhooley, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Gilhooley for approximately 20 years. He had always attended to my my concerns promptly had always diagnosed my health issues accurately. I find him to be up-to-date knowledgeable and genuinely concerned for his patients. His staff is friendly and acts promptly and appropriately.

Very caring helped my husband and I.

If you care about yourself or your family do not go to this doctor. He does not care about it patients at all. My grandfather lost over 40 pounds in 2 months and the doctor didn't bother to look into it. My grandfather then passed out at home and was taken to the hospital where they found he was internally bleeding and had lost pints of blood. They did an endoscopy and found esophageal cancer. He was send home to in home hospice and given 2 months to live. I watched this strong man waste away and he passed away right infront of me. Dr. Gilhooley does not care about his patients. They never return phone calls even when it is critically important. I have so much more I could say but I will leave it at this. Shame on him, he should retire because he has no empathy for his patients.

If I could rate this doctor any worse I would. No information relayed to family regarding changing conditions nor medications. Repeated phone calls to both staff and doctor go unanswered. Critically ill patient allowed to deteriorate for over a week and it was only due to family intervention the patient was removed to hospital with CHF.

Doesn't return phone calls even after repeated requests. After 5 days of observation, seemingly unconcerned about fluid build up and difficulty breathing in a patient who survived cardiac/pulmonary arrest. It was only due to family intervention, the patient was admitted to the hospital for CHF.

Didn't have the decency/professionalism to return multiple phone calls regarding the care of my husband who is in critical condition and who ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure due to his inattention and inability to recognize potential life threatening symptoms. Thanks Doc!

I have been treated by this doctor for years.My family are also his patients.I also worked with him .He was the medical director and in house physician at GMVC. He still is the treating physician of many veterans there upon their request for him personally,I can tell you as a nurse working with him he took the time to visit every patient.He listened to them .He speaks to them in terms as elderly geriatric patients can understand him.He has been accessable to family members to address all their concerns.He has always returned calls no matter the time. He is a fine Doctor and person.

too busy not as good as he was

The demeanor of the women that run the office is offensive. My adopted son had been the doctor's patient since he was a boy. HIs mother, my sister, became ill and died and he came to live with me. When I returned my family to the area a few years later Dr. Gilhooley told my mother he would take my nephew back as a patient. Unfortunately the front desk either did not believe me or gets some pleasure out of making their patients beg for service. My experience was so unpleasant that I would not allow my son to go there if they paid me. Could someone please remind these people that they are in the business of healing, not hurting.
