After being a psychiatrist for over 20 years, I have come to learn that medications used for psychiatric disorders are both over and under used.In mild cases, non pharmacological interventions have great value.I have taught this to students for the better part of my career.Treating an illness does not treat the cause and the treatment of both are equally important .

I was unsure about my medication which i had been on a while and still had symptoms. Encouraging ans suggested a trial of a different medication and explained clearly life style changes I should make. Would recommend but takes a bit of time to get an appointment. Worth it.

A bit difficult finding the time for the consultation as it seems he has somewhat limited office hours, but very knowledgeable. Not someone who makes you feel you have "a chemical imbalance". I suppose holistic. Valuable second opinion as was unsure about the medications I was on.

Went to get a second opinion om thr treatment of my ADHD. I liked the emphasis on diet and exercise and some reading suggestions. Definitely more than just medication suggestions which helped as well. Also a non judgmental application but still easy to follow suggestions- straight forward as well. Recommended.

Went to Dr Goldstein for a second opinion regarding my medication. I thoght it was time to get off it. It took a while to get an appointment since he is only in the office a few days a week. It is was well worth it. The strong emphasis on exercise, breathing, diet and Sleep helped me alot. So did the even handed discussion regarding the benefits and problems with the current medication reliance. Recommend. Worth the wait.

Dr. Goldstein has no preference between medication snd talk therapy. He serms conservative in his suggestions and not rigid. I found the consultation to be very helpful and the logic of his suggestions were easy to understsnd.

Dr. Goldstein was not quick to either recommend or dispel the use of medication. He looks at the problem in a holistic manner. If you want just meds he might not be the best person, as he recommended them only with life style changes. Very helpful. Very very knowledgeable.

Communicates his ideas clearly and is not close minded to input.Worthwhile and helpful consultation about using medication with psychotherapy.
