Dr. Michael Richard Gella Gonzaga, MD

When we left the Military service, I was told to find a doctor that I could talk with. I asked around and was told that Dr. Michael Gonzaga was the doctor I needed. On my first visit, he talked with me, answered my questions, concerns. When tests were done, he would call and explain the findings even after hours. I have auto-immune diseases which require different treatment and explanation as we went forward. He was my doctor for 31 years. His patients would travel from 100 miles away, he was that good! It didn't make any difference, male or female, young or well seasoned. He treated everyone with respect and the best medical care possible. If you ended up in the hospital, he would stop and see you, sometimes twice or three times a day. He was the best! Then a change happened in the political arena, and a half dozen (doctors) specialists left the clinic. I have tried to find even one doctor now that will even give me lab results, or any test results. An appointment with… the doctor lasts 5 minutes or less and are scheduled 4 to 6 months between visits. I feel like a senior test module and a piece of waste, to put it mildly! While my husband was in the Military, I worked at two military hospitals as a civilian. At no time did I see or experience the treatment that people receive now, in some clinics or hospitals. It is a shame! We could certainly have dozens of doctors like Michael Gonzaga in our clinics and hospitals. I had many members of our families who worked as nurses or teachers, sure wish we had many more including doctors who treat everyone with respect and good medical care. I don't mean to complain, but we hope that medical care can improve and be back on track real soon!
