Michael Guma, DO

Everything said about Dr. Guma is true. Great doctor, but unreachable. No telephone contact though they put you on hold for HOURS!. No promised return call. I had to send a letter to him to get his attention.

Dr. Michael Guma is a excellent doctor after seeing me 10 years ago, he came to Hackensack medical center and he remembered my case from 10 years ago. All I can say is that Dr. Michael Guma is the best!!!

Would not see this doctor again. Does not listen to patient, only believes what test results show. Treated me like I was wasting his time. No compassion.

Dr. Guma looks to ensure that we as his patients are pain free and comfortable, He will dot his i's and cross his t's before putting you in a compromising position with your recovery.

My neurologist recommended Dr. Guma after my primary dr. sent me to an orthopedic dr. and his recommendation was to "wait and see" after my index finger swelled up like a balloon and then the joints started to become inflamed and crooked. Dr. Guma's physician's assistant, Hilary Sugar, did a host of blood work on me. On my follow-up visit, Dr. Guma told me I had psoriatic arthritis, which accounted for the rapid swelling of my finger, since psoriatic arthritis advances quickly. I was also diagnosed with a virus that I had for years that remains dormant in most people, but became active in me twice, and not one doctor or the hospital has been able to diagnose. He is great! I wouldn't give him up for the world!!

Dr Guma was the only doctor besides my ex-wife that spent the time to diagnose my condition and how it needed to be treated. In my opinion there is NO better in the field of arthritis then Dr. Guma.

Dr Guma and his PA Hillary and his staff are some of the finest healthcare professionals I have ever known. I was diagnosed with RA and they have been supportive, flexible, and caring for over 6 years of my treatment. I have had several insurance changes, and when I've had to go to other Doctors I always come back to Dr. Guma.

This office has an amazing staff. Very nice and polite. May take some time about a month to get in for a new patient but it is worth the wait. I recommend this Doctor to anyone who needs a rheumatologist.
