Dr. Michael Ernest Gurule, MD

My husband had seen Dr. G a year or so ago when he was with another health group. My husband is not fond of anything medical but found Dr. G easy to talk with, knowledgeable and with great "bedside manner." We had first app't of day as his office coordinator, Sheila, had warned us patients often have to wait bec'z Dr. G doesn't skimp on time with each patient, and patients wait "because he is worth it." He was VERY informative, and we felt much better educated and aware of my hub's situation, and the plan going forward, when we left. The entire staff - Sheila, and Jade, the M.A., were excellent, professional, helpful and KIND.

We showed up early then was told that we had to wait an hour. Then we were told we are not able to leave. I was then asking if we were supposed to sit there and rot? They had an attitude with me. I had an errand to run around the corner and I received a phone call about 20 minutes later saying that they miraculously caught up with the four patients in front of me. And they were looking everywhere for me that I was miraculously next. I raced back and said Oh no you're not rebooking me because I drove all the way up here you are seeing me next!. I went back then still had to wait another hour! I am changing doctors even though he is a good doctor it's not worth it.

Had a 12pm appt and was asked to come in at 11:30 to fill out paperwork I arrived at 11:20 At 12:15 I asked how long the wait would be.. The nurse, Cyndi said there were four people ahead of me and the wait would be at least two hours...really??? Why bother with appointments needless to say I could not take the entire afternoon off for a simple consultation and appointment the doctor couldn't keep. Perhaps they could have called and said to come in at 2pm and I could have rearranged my day Needless to say I got my co pay refunded and left. Made an appointment elswhere and got in and out in no time whatsover. This doctor is overbooking and makes you wait because of it If you didn't cancel on time I'm sure he'd be sending you the bill for no cancelling on time...Pathetic service I would not recommend unless you have time to waste

Being a Stanford undergraduate I was excited to see Dr. Gurule in the emergency room. Luck of the draw. He gave me a full analysis of my situation and got me the best immediate care possible. I hope he will make me his full time patient. I think Stanford has the best medical school in the country.

He spent an uninterrupted hour with me. No cell, no other interuptions. Went through my problems step by step, explained everything clearly, in layman's terms. One of the best physicians I've ever been to. Highly recommended.
