Taken to the ER, I was found to have an advanced fungal meningitis along with several different staff infections. I was told that every cell in my body was colonised. Over several weeks in isolation, Dr Gutwein pulled me through. I later realized that many didn't expect me to make it. A few years later I contracted a severe MRSA infection following abdominal sugury. Again, he pulled me through. Both times, I knew he was giving his all. It was also apparent from the way hospital staff and other physicians responded to him, that he highly respected. While under his care, nurses and doctors repeatedly told me that there was no better and that if they were in my place, he is the guy they would want. There is no doubt in my mind that his knowledge and skill are the reason I'm still alive.

Best doctor I have ever had, cured my staph infection, saved my life. Most professional, knowledgeable, caring, kind, compassionate doctor who I have ever met. Also a very nice person. His staff reflects his kindness, professional courtesy, care and competency.

Dr. Gutwein is the most brilliant and dedicated doctor i have ever met. He knew my history backwards and forwards. He visited me daily in the hospital for several weeks at a time, i dont think he took a day off. He always spent a lot of time with me

Dr. Gutwein strikes me as quite bright. He was thorough and careful in his assessment of my case. Definitely had "done his homework" on my medical history. Speaks clearly and demonstrates a lot of expert knowledge. Seems kind and concerned and not watching the clock.
