Dr. Michael Peter Hahalyak, DO

We spent some time seeking out a new pediatrician for our family and were recommended to Dr. Hahalyak. The way the office is organized is something others should consider before they're in the position I've been put in. I spoke on the phone to someone in his office shortly before our baby was born and they told me to call as soon as he was born to schedule the first 48 hour appointment. They knew my child would be born within the next 5 days and they would be hearing from me shortly. Accordingly at the hospital I had all the paperwork sent over to their office. When I called to make the appointment his office staff told me, after getting all my insurance information, that they wouldn't be able to see my child for over two weeks. I was shocked: the newborn screening is critical! What was going on? In an appalling manner I was told the doctor is entitled to take a week off. Well, obviously. But what are their contingency plans for the situation I was in? Why was I not able to be seen… this week, or at least as soon as the doctor returned to the office? The administrator was bored and annoyed I was even asking these questions, which was again shocking. I've had multiple children and been through this many times already and never seen anything like the casual disinterest displayed by their office. If they had no interest in seeing a newborn for over 2 weeks they could have at least told me this on the phone a mere 5 days ago. With that said I now have to be home with a newborn and have all the hospital records sent to a different doctor and had to scramble for a new appointment elsewhere. Just what a mom with a new baby needs. I've never left a review of a medical practitioner before, but this experience was so irresponsible, short-sighted, and the administrator's behavior so appalling that I am writing this within my first few hours home so that no other mom wastes time with this practice. If I had seen a review like this online I would have changed my mind, at least. Hope this helps someone.

Appointments always on time. Staff is great. He listens and really tries to help! Best doctor I ever had.

He was nice and personable on the first visit. After that, he was abrupt, rude and ineffective. His staff is nice but he is miserable, and he’s mediocre at best as a doctor.

Always makes me and my children feel comfortable, easy to talk to and very smart!

Dr Hahalyak is by far better than any of the doctors we had before. And his Staff Will do Anything they can to make your visit more enjoyable. " Desire " is a true Angel !

This Dr. Is a consumate caring Medical professional who listens, and then speaks to your specific needs. Thorough, compassionate, and direct, with a hand picked staff that represents his Core Medical Values toward the patient. Over all an Excellent Experience!

Dr. Hahalyak is is a wonderful doctor who genuinely cares.

Dr Hahalyak was both pleasant and caring. He listened to everything I said. He asked good questions about my problems. I just lost my job, and meeting Dr Hahalyak was definite boost to my day! Taking my husband to meet him.

The worst doctor I have ever had. Arrogant thoughtless. When the end is here his reaction to a loyal pt. is the same as oh well.

Dr. Hahalyak is by far the best PCP I've ever seen. He is professional, caring and respectful. He takes the time to listen...spends quality time getting to know you and your medical needs. He makes you feel as though he WANTS to help, such a rare quality in the medical profession these days. It's so hard to find a good doctor, one that actually cares, Dr. Hahalyak is one in a million and I'm so glad I've found him! Only complaint is his office staff. They aren't the friendliest.
