Dr. Michael Mckinley Hallberg, MD

I have been seeing Dr Hallberg for about 9 years. He has alway been nonjudgmental and makes me feel like I can be open and honest. He always has a method to help and doesn’t rely on a prescription pad. He is everything you could hope for in a doctor when you’re in crisis or trying to navigate through life. He was a referral and I can never thank that person person enough for how much he has helped me through the years.

Dr. Hallberg has been great. Scheduling and confirming appointments are easy (he does them over email, so no telephone tag), he asks the standard questions but in a thoughtful and thorough way, and he’s engaged in a way that goes beyond just his prescription pad. I’ve been seeing psychiatrists for 20+ years and rarely have had one that I would also recommend for talk therapy - but Dr. H gets that recommendation. He doesn’t hold back on his opinions and can be blunt, but also manages to be compassionate and thorough in this questions to get to the root of what’s going on with you. And has good solid practical actionable advice. He’s young, but he sees things quickly and accurately. Super helpful.

Dr. Hallberg was very warm upon our first meeting. The questions he asked seemed to be thoughtful, rather than running down a checklist to fill a criteria he imagined I fit into. He thoroughly and carefully explained everything, from why he diagnosed me as he did, some of the typical characteristics, the treatment he recommended, and why he recommended that as well as what to expect from said treatment. I would highly recommend him as a psychiatrist.

Guy had opinion about me before he even met me. I think he works part time, and doubt he will ever develop a sucessful private practice. I guess if you are a run of the mill case, he might be ok. He was way off the mark in his assumptions of me, just from a little info I gave him in an e-mail.I have been in practice for five times his age. Be careful!
