Dr. Michael Raymon Handleton, MD

Although, I am not one to visit doctors very often, when I do I would like to feel that I am being listened to. I felt he was not very interested and I am sure he did not listen. On my first visit, I had been dealing with shoulder pain. Dr Handleton tapped on my wrist a few times and thought I needed surgery on my wrist. I then saw an orthopedic doctor and he confirmed the problem is not my wrist but arthritis as well as a muscle tear in my shoulder. My next visit was for pain in my abdomen. I was told it's diverticulitis and prescribed antibiotics. I have serious doubts about the diagnosis and the pain came back just a few days after the I finished the medication. I am currently seeking a new doctor and second opinion. I do not trust his opinions.

I didn't care for his overall attitude about my health problems going on. I felt as though I was being judged. He made a comment on me needing to do more than walking. I have several things playing against me thyroid, diabetes and cholesterol. So I know first hand I need to lose some weight but to be informed this way by someone whose suppose to guide you. Needless to say I am seeing a different Dr. My husband went with me to an appointment and he didn't even care for him. I gave several chances because I thought maybe I just didn't feel comfortable with a male Dr.

I felt he was dismissive. Although my tonsils were swollen and red, he didn't even suggest a test for strep. I was concerned that a prior condition was also returning, but he dismissed the diagnosis of my original doctor. He said I was fine, although a week later I'm still coughing up green goo. Won't see him again.
