Dr. Michael Havey Handy, MD

I was unfortunately enough to get myself into an accident at a you d he which required reconstructive surgery or my entire leg including but not limited to my ankle femur knee and their surrounding tendons, but fortunate enough to have Dr. as my surgeon and in the next year span I was back to playing sports. This was seven years ago and I continue to not let my incident to hinder me due to his skill and patience with my situation. Thank you.

Dr. Handy was called in as an expert 2nd opinion after a 4th failed surgery. No fault to my previous surgeon, I just was a difficult case with numerous obstacles. I’m not out of the woods yet but it’s “looking really good,” as doc put it. I feel better, my foot is aligned, my tibia and fibula both are growing bone. This physician’s hands worked magic through Christ’s guidance. I’m blessed to have him as my surgeon.

Dr. Michael Handicap met me as a patient of another Dr , I'm a 60 year old lady and my foot slipped on some Dew on the grass and I fell and broke my left femur bone in half , Dr Michael handy had been assisting the surgeon that supposed to have taken care of me , dr. Handy came out into the surgery waiting room where I was at , and explain to me what was the slow up in the operating rooms, I was very upset I was in a lot of pain and he told me that I could switch doctors if I chose to to get on into the operating room and I asked dr. Handy could he accept another patient , he immediately told me that he could I just needed to sign consent forms and he would get me on into the surgery room to be operated on , which I gladly did and it was my best decision I have ever made . I have been always treated with the utmost respect and I have been treated like a patient , and also I felt like I was very respected and given the same courtesy , and dr. Handy has the best receptionist and her… name is Gwen , very professionally greeted and I've always been treated like I was more than a patient and more like a friend , and treated like family, because all of dr. Handy staff members would ask you how your day was and is if it's anything else they could do , and I feel very blessed to have been having the opportunity to be treated by dr. Handy and his wonderful staff , and I have referred him to many of my family members and Friends . Dr. Handy is the first doctor I have ever been to that had my health and my questions, answerEd, and he always made sure that I had what it took , to get my pain level to where I could tolerate it . Dr. Handy is extremely thorough and patient. He puts you at ease and answers all your questions. Very courteous and friendly. His staff is top notch.

I fell due to a rainy and muddy surface in my yard -- I broke my right wrist and went to Moses Cone Hospital. I was referred to Dr. Michael Handy to be seen the following morning. Dr. Handy was absolutely exceptional in his diagnosis of my broken wrist. After surgery, he has been extremely thoughtful and I could not be happier with the care I have received. I am so thankful for the way he has treated me as a patient. He spends time with me and his bedside manner is incredible! He truly is knowledgeable and thorough. Because of Dr. Handy, I am healing beautifully and he is number ONE in my book! Thank you, Dr. Handy for your service! I will be forever grateful!

I fell and shattered the Tibia Plateau of left leg, an injury bad enough that I was told that, had it happened 12 years earlier, I would have lost my leg. Greensboro Orthopedics reviewed my x-rays and immediately said to call Dr. Handy as they did not want to be involved. Dr. Handy and his entire staff were extremely professional and polite. He honestly explained everything involved in the surgeries as well as what I should expect afterward. I was able to walk using a cane two months after the surgery, and without a cane 3 weeks later. I would (and will) HIGHLY recommend Dr. Handy to anyone in need of trauma surgery.

My husband has been seeing Dr Handy since his accident. Dr Handy operated on his hand and leg and fixed a major problem that he was having. Even though he had to stay in the hospital, we made it through and couldn't be happier. He is better than most of his other doctors.
