Dr. Michael Hanifen, DC

Dr. Michael Hanifen, B.S., D.C., Ed.D., is a family and performance-focused chiropractor serving Anchorage, Alaska, with more than two decades of clinical experience.

He is the owner of North Star Chiropractic Wellness Center, LLC, where he provides principled chiropractic care focused on long-term function, nervous system health, biomechanics, movement, and whole-body wellness.

Dr. Hanifen specializes in family chiropractic care, including pediatric chiropractic, pregnancy and prenatal chiropractic, sports injury care, TMJ dysfunction, auto accident injury care, and performance-focused chiropractic for active individuals and families.

His approach combines hands-on chiropractic techniques with advanced neurological and biomechanical assessment technology, including surface electromyography (sEMG), thermography, and functional nervous system evaluation. Dr. Hanifen …earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and later completed his Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) through National University. He is also a United States Air Force veteran and has served the Anchorage community since 2004.
