Dr. Michael Richard Hansen

Dr. Hansen is highly educated & skilled in dentistry. His staff is professional and quality of care is the best. He does give you information and advise of what procedures that you may need in the future, so that you are aware of the status of your dental health.

During my time at this Dentist, I felt that the practice was overzealous in declaring cavities. This all came to a head at my last visit. Previously, a few months before, I was told that at my next visit, a cavity would need to get filled on my upper right 1st molar. I was attending college at the time, so I wasn't able to visit till a little later. But I was very careful to properly clean the tooth during this time. When I returned, I asked the dentist to take another look or take a new X-ray before drilling, but this was ignored and brushed aside. After a much-longer-than normal session, once the filling was finished and as I was walking out the door he cheerfully stated that, "by the way", you now need to go to an endodontist for a root canal because probably drill to deep into the tooth. I was flabbergasted, since at no point during the visit was this mentioned to me at all until he was just about to see his next patient. He filled it in knowing a root canal was needed and after I… asked at the beginning of the treatment for him to double check how deep he needed to drill. I had to get an emergency visit at a different dentist the day if to get the root canal and they stated that they absolutely had drilled far deeper than necessary while they were looking at it during the root canal. So he's terrible dentist, basically. Don't go here.
