Dr. Michael David Hargrove, MD

As a “specialist” in psychiatry and neurology, he couldn’t determine what illness the patient had. Took him months! He is passive and not persistent. With mental health patients, you can’t ask them to consider a medication! Our new doctor figured it out after the first hour of evaluation and TOLD the patient what medication is going to the pharmacy.Patient is now getting help he needs weekly and could have been helped a long time ago!! This was our first time seeing a psychiatrist so we didn’t know the experience…Also, it’s almost impossible to make appointments. He takes so long to respond to voicemails too! Then when he finally contacts the patient, he talks (no FaceTime) for 15-30 minutes. Find a doctor that does FaceTime because it’s important that the doctor actually sees you to see your progress… find a doctor that doesn’t just listen but talks and cares for you! What a waste of time and money! Find another doctor!

I have been working with Dr. Michael Hargrove for many years to overcome anxiety and depression coming out of a 17 years marriage to an extremely volatile person with mental illness and alcohol dependence. The combination of conversation to help me dig deep and uncover the root causes of my affliction and teaching me a variety of techniques to deal with anxiety/PTSD helped me to better understand and control my emotions. Additionally, he worked with me to find the right balance of medication and was patient with my resistance to take medication. His support has allowed me to overcome my fears, and now rebuild my life, maintain my job, and start a new relationship.

One of the absolute worst providers I’ve ever experienced. After a two year relationship, he dissolved a multi-year relationship where essentially his only job was to push pills, by having his front desk call to relay that his hours were “reducing.” I found out I would be without medication I need. Unprofessional and absolutely disrespectful towards patient welfare. Stay away if you care about good mental healthcare.

This a very experienced psychiatrist and a caring and empathetic human being. He has always my best interest in mind.

Pretentious, opportunistic, egomaniac. During COVID National Emergency, he refused to take patient who was 15 minutes late (for hour long appointment) and desperately needed medication refilled. She had waited 6 weeks or more for the appointment, at that: it was her 4th visit to the clinic including weekly therapy appointments. Heading now to the emergency room to get a script. Certainly they have better things to do during this national emergency, but Michael Hargrove couldn’t be bothered.

Dr. Hargrove is an absolutely great psychiatrist. I truly appreciate his warmth and compassion.
