Dr. Michael Ernest Henry, MD

Acts like a know it all and is arrogant. Uses old methods to treat patients. Over medicated which i cannot stress enough. Uses psych hospitalizations as threats and the only solution when in a bad place. Fails to educate about side effects or care about them. Overall, terrible doctor.

I have suffered for years from a mix of depression/ anxiety and mood disorders and have seen many doctors , hospitals and when i finally got to meet Dr Henry i know he was the ONLY doctor who could help me ! He works tirelessly to get me stronger he is so busy but somehow is always available to take your call and talk you through a crisis until he can get you into his office. I have been working with him about 4 years and i don’t what i would do without his expertise. His is brilliant,genuine, supportive and will not stop until he gets me to a better place. I am not exaggerating when i say I would NOT be alive today if it were not for Dr Henry—

Dr. Henry has been sensitive and caring and works with a great team of medical professionals in the ECT Dept. at MGH. I feel very comfortable being in his care and appreciate all he continues to provide me in terms of the consistent protocols he and the team provide to me. He is a top-notch doctor. The treatment can be a little scary, but I know that this is the most effective treatment for my depression, ADD, and Acute Anxiety Disorder. I am very grateful for the medical excellence provided to me for this complex and troubling disorder suite. Thank you to Dr, Henry, Dr. Fernandez, the anesthesiologists, the nurses, and the ladies that provide me with the O2 I need during the procedure. I often tell them that due to the quality of delivery I always feel like I am flying first class.

My experience with Dr Michael Henry is and always have been a calming and understanding Doctor with so much expertise. If I need him he is always readily available to call back in record time. Dr Henry goes above and beyond and never makes you feel beneath him ...he encourages not discourages that you can and you will in so many circumstances. Dr Henry is very pleasant. All I have said of Dr Henry is coming from a patient who would never go to a Psychiatrist or believe in Psychiatry he from day one changed my belief...however I do not know or feel if I would be fortunate to find another like him. Therefore most likely I would not go to another. I have been a patient of Dr Michael E. Henry for at least six or maybe seven years. I highly recommend Dr Henry.

Dr. Henry has demonstrated to me time after time that he really cares about me. He also has a very nice team he works with. He is first class.

You won't find a better doctor for treating complex refractory psychiatric conditions, especially (though not exclusively) mood disorders. He has enormous experience with psych medications, knows how to combine them in creative ways, and won't give up if they fail to work the way they should! Although he is (too) busy, he makes himself available by cell phone and can be reached in an emergency. He is patient, maintains a sense of humor, and never runs out of ideas. Because he is rather an introvert, it takes time to get to know this doctor, but it's more than worth it, in my opinion. Dr. Henry will take your psychiatric treatment seriously, and he will expect you to do the same. If he sees you making an honest effort, he'll be tremendously supportive of you. A real asset on the road to recovery!

I have seen my share of poor psychophamacologists, and Dr. Henry is the best of them. He thinks carefully about my medical cocktail, and has come up with one, which suits me. I am able to manage my bipolar condition, to my satisfaction, and my quality of life is better.

Have found him to be exceptionally caring and concerned. ECT is a difficult and often misunderstood therapy, but I trust him completely. Also, he has a very courteous and competent staff.

Michael Henry has saved my life several time. Would definitely recommend him. Very committed, busy and honest. Have seen him for over 17 years. Very talented in his field. I truly trust him.
