Dr. Michael Hernandez, MD

Michael R. Hernandez, MD, is program director of the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship and a senior associate in perioperative anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as an instructor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in pediatric anesthesiology and perioperative care for infants, children, and adolescents undergoing complex surgical and diagnostic procedures. Dr. Hernandez earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and residency in anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, followed by fellowship training in pediatric anesthesiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. Board certified in both anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology, his work focuses on advancing pediatric perioperative safety, fellowship education, and high-quality anesthesia care for children.
