Dr. Michael Peter Hirsh, MD

For those of you who are giving low ratings, because of Dr. Horse voicing his opinion, you’ve never been seen by him. So, your rating is irrelevant! My infant was 4 days old and had major surgery to repair a TE Fistula. She wasn’t able to swallow, before this surgery. Or she would choke and turn blue. Dr. Hirsch and his amazing team spoke to me and my child’s Dad the Day and night before surgery. He drew us a picture and calmly explained how the procedure was going to happen. Anytime he was bust he has an assistant named Christine. Not a student, she was his team member. She would always be there to answer questions. I never saw a student with him! We saw him maybe 5-8 times. He was very compassionate, answered all of our questions, understood our worries and gave us hope. Our child’s surgery lasted for 6 hours give or take. Dr. Hirsch spoke to us right after, even though he was clearly tired. He checked on her every day until she was healed. We were even able to go into the office and… see him with any issues. This is one very special man. He saves life’s on a daily basis. He will forever be such an Angel who was the best Dr. we have come in contact with!

My daughter was born with down syndrome 1988. She also had a bowel obstruction known as sudo-hirshsprunges. He operated on her at just weeks old to give her an ostomey bag (6hrs. surgery) until her cells grow to be able to expel stool normally. Once they were developed at 2 1/2 yrs. old he reversed the colon an put it back in place. Thank God, we have not had a problem since then. She is now 30 yrs. old. Without Dr. Mikes expertest my daughter will probably be dead now or have many problems. He is the most kindess, caring doctor I have ever meet...We even kept in touch when him and his side kick Chris MaKenna moved to PA to head up orthopedic dept. in Philly.........was so glad to here he moved back here......love you dr. Mike

I found this doctor to be an arrogant self absorbed person. He Mis diagnosised our granddaughter and couldn't be bother to see her himself. He sent his med students in his place constantly. We called his office repeatedly about her issues and he did nothing. He is a poster child for the quality of the Umass a healthcare system. A disciple in a white coat who cares little for his patients other than their co-pays. I don't care what degrees he list based on his assessment I would guess he printed them off his own computer, or traded four box tops and .50 for his degree in the Caymen islands. In order to resolve the issue we went to Children's Hospital Boston were they operated on her today one week after they saw her. This doctor wanted to put it off for months, and she had three hernias not the one he bothered to lock at. His incompetence is nothing less than expected based on his lack of concern for his patient. I would avoid this doctor at all costs.
