Poor bedside manner exhibited by this doctor's comments made directly to my loved one, who was seeing this doctor upon being admitted to the emergency room via ambulance. Chest tightness and pain should never be taken lightly and especially shouldn't be taken lightly by the ER doctor attending to a patien with these symptoms. To make comments to suggest that an ambulance should not have been called when experiencing these symptoms is not only irresponsible on the part of this doctor, but also a complete shame that this type of communication is being made directly to the patient. My loved one, who has been diagnosed with several conditions, including 2 different types of cancer and Parkinson's, and recently started intense chemotherapy drugs and was experiencing chest pain and tightness, was released with a prescription for anxiety medication. After a few days of my calling the oncologists, found out he should have been taking off the chemo drugs he was on b/c of potential serious… damage to the heart with continued use.
