If I could give less than one star I would. Should have retired years ago. NO compassion. Hated everything about the whole visit. Would not even give a script for psyc. meds that were running out. Wanted to see how I was off of them first. Had been on for years and just wanted to stop them.

My overall experience was positive;I have been healed to a signifigant degree by allowing Dr.Joy to treat me.I let myself trust him and followed the advise he gave me in its totality.I came to feel safe and cared for as a valuable part of the world.Dr. Joy is a Dinasaur...and a good one;he alwas spoke truth with me, and I owe the progress I've made in therapy directly to the expert quality psyciatric care Dr.Joy gave me.Quality mental health care can be dificult to find,and the dinasaurs are all but gone ;get with Dr.Joy if you need to get well,he will help you.

Dr. Joy's slouching, sleepy, apathetic mannerisms during patient review meetings are alarming. He says, "I don't know," too frequently to general questions. His commmunication with mentally ill patients is like he is talking to a dog or small child, instead of a person. He is unwilling or unable to read colleague's notes and reports, and often contradicts those on this own staff. I have no confidence in his services as a mental health practitioner.
