Michael P. Kahky, MD, is the team leader for Breast Cancer Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson - Orlando. He received his medical degree from SUNY-Downstate Medical Center in New York City. He is board certified in general surgery. He completed his surgical oncology fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and his surgical residency at State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center Department of Surgery. Dr. Kahky has been the assistant chief at the Orlando Cancer Center Department of Surgery, junior faculty associate at MD Anderson in Houston, assistant instructor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Department of Surgery and a clinical assistant Instructor at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center Department of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. The Dr is awesome..very Professional..His team is great..They took care of me all the time. Mrs. Eliana is very kind and helpful..Great experience with the doble mastectomy .

I recently had a first time visit to Dr. Kahky. I was very impressed with his patience and willingness to explain everything. I was also super impressed about the wait time in his office. I was back in the exam room at the time of my appt. which I highly appreciated. Their follow up with me is top notch and clearly they put a lot of importance on follow up and accessibility. So glad I chose him for my care.

Dr.Kahky is an amazing Dr. bedside manner is excellent. Very detailed with what the surgery you are having will be like and the time it will take to recover from surgery.

Dr. Kahky removed my thyroid. I saw him for pre-op appt. Would have been a little more helpful to know how recovery would be and what to anticipate but overall, attentive. Day of surgery, saw him for 2 minutes and then not again until post op appt. despite a stay in the hospital(which was a little disappointing as I felt "handed off"). However, during my post op appt., he was very patient, engaging, and interested. When I commented about possibly having a reaction to an increase in thyroid medicine from my endo, he immediately called her, explained the situation, helping me to get the medication adjusted, which was very much appreciated! Staff a little 'clinical' in attitude. Would go back.
