Dr. Michael M Karol

Dr. Michael M. Karol, DDS, is the owner of the dental practice Somers Smiles, located, of course, in the town of Somers, New York. He has owned the practice since 2005.
A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry (and now named Virginia Commonwealth University),
Dr. Karol has been practicing dentistry for nearly 20 years.
Dr. Karol conducted his residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center at the Family Dentistry program in Farmington. He was a clinical instructor at the Yale University Graduate Clinic in New Haven, CT, and has also been an associate clinical instructor at the Columbia University School of Dentistry program. He continues to serve as an associate clinical instructor for the New York University School of Dentistry.
He is a graduate of the J.D. Pankey Institute in courses on advanced dental studies, as well as the Dawson series on
occlusal rehabilitation.
Dr. Karol is certified in the use of sedation dentistry by D.O.C.S. (Doctors of …Oral Conscious Sedation). He is a member
of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the Ninth District Dental Association.
He grew up in Queens, New York, and attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan and Queens College for his B.A.
His parents were both teachers in the New York City public school system.
An avid sports fan, his hobbies include tennis, golf and all kinds of spectator sports—especially his beloved Mets and Jets.
In his spare time, he is also “trying to learn” to speak Spanish. His wife, Josefina, was born in the Dominican Republic.
