Dr. Michael A Kolber, MD

Michael Kolber, PhD, MD is professor of Medicine with secondary appointments in Micro/Immunology Department of Public Health Science. He is the Clinical Director for HIV Adult Service in Infectious Diseases, he is the Director of the Comprehensive AIDS Program fro the UMMSM, he is Medical Director of Compliance for the UMMSM. Dr. Kolber has over 50 publications the majority in the field of HIV. He is co-director for the Community and Behavioral Core of the Miami CFAR. His current NIH funded research is on the real world use of PrEP, a multi center trial including San Francisco Department of Health and the Whitman Walker Clinic in DC. He is working on various committees to enhance the School's prevention and Public Health footprint in the Community while providing strategies to provide healthcare in the changing landscape. Over the past few years Dr. Kolber has expanded UM HIV care into surrounding FQHC thereby improving care and building a network to enhance prevention science in the …Community. He is the local PI for the AIDS Education and Training Center which strives to provide education to local physicians in the field of HIV. Over the past few years Dr. Kolber has received community awards (C.A.E.A.R Coalition and the Flowers Foundation) as well as teaching awards. Dr. Kolber looks to the future to grow HIV prevention efforts and improve linkage and retention in care for those affected with HIV.
