Dr. Michael Kooistra JR., MD

Dr. Kooistra is knowledgeable, upbeat and empathetic. He always provides enough time to discuss all my concerns and address them thoroughly. His nurse, Lisa, is equally personable and caring. However, the front-office staff doesn't meet the same standards. They're generally courteous and efficient, but anything requiring extra effort can try their patience. In particular, pharmacy calls requesting refills or clarification often take longer than necessary. For this reason, I've given them four stars instead of five -- which Dr. Kooistra and Lisa certainly deserve.

Dr. Kooistra is a joy to visit -- he's very upbeat and inspires confidence in his patients. Like all doctors today he's pressed for time, but he stays with you until all concerns are dealt with. If you have questions later, the staff is pretty good about getting them answered for you.

Dr. Kooistra and his staff are awesome. Everyone treats you with respect, kindness and a concern for your condition. I certainly recommend anyone who would enjoy having a Christian physician and staff.

Dr. Kooistra truley listens to his patients problems & exuasts all avenues in getting to the underlying issue of your medical condition. What I like about Dr. Kooistra is that if he doesn't know how to treat you he will definitely send you to a top notch specialist that specializes in your area of concern, not mention he spends time with his patients & doesn't make you feel like another number as most Doctors do. I highly recommend Dr. Kooistra to friends OR family. Staff are very friendly and courteous as well! :-)

Unreasonable waits when extremely sick. If you call on Monday morning, one can't get in until Friday---no matter how ill you are.
