Dr. Michael Jae Lee, MD

Dr. Lee was good on the front end of the procedure. When there was a post-op problem (infection and abcess) he was not. My wife ended up hospitalized at NW and in great pain, and he remained the attending doctor. He visited in a rush and started draining the wound - incision and needle - without even a topical anesthetic. She expressed how painful it was and he shrugged it off. Ultimately, the pain was so bad she fainted, and he was utterly indifferent. He seemed more interested in rushing back to his office than ensuring that his patient was comfortable.

My sister and I both had extensive procedures, with their own challenges, performed by Dr. Lee. We are extremely critical and from the moment we met I knew he was the only doctor I would want fixing my nose. His kind, funny, compassionate demeanor were a plus. The time he took with each of us to explain the process and additional after care solidified we had made the correct choice when choosing a plastic surgeon. Thank you always Dr. Lee- The Dorr Twins

This guy....He removed a benign mole from my wife’s thigh. He did a crappy job, and the incision (in a low tension area) dehisced badly. He never offered to fix the issue or try and provide after care for his complication. In fact, afterwards, he accused my wife of being a drug seeker when she said her thigh hurt while she was working full time as a RN at Northwestern!! Unreal. We picked monocryl suture out of her thigh for 2-3 wks. We went on our honeymoon with her thigh dehisced. He never made a single recommendation of how to care for the wound. I ordered her supplies on Amazon, and eventually she healed while we were abroad. Maybe his high dollar cases turn out well?!

Was kept waiting 45+ minutes. Did not appear to be interested in doing an accident repair that insurance would have paid for, at likely a low "negotiated" rate. Said he did needed procedure but "better off seeing someone else". Maybe true.

Dr. Lee is excellent he answered all my questions; made me feel very comfortable about the surgery. He was very good with follow up appointments and call backs.

I'm in a highly competitive business and my appearance is important (though I'm not a model or actress.) I need to look energetic, youthful, but not strangely "young" (that "young" that one sees on some over 50 actresses.)Before deciding on Dr. Lee I read extensively about the credentialing process and saw four other board certified surgeons in Chicago. Dr. Lee was by far the most thorough in his initial consultation, listened carefully and explained the whys and hows of the procedures recommended. I now have a face which looks youthful, but not "pulled", more awake, but not that strange deer in the headlights look. Lastly, Dr. Lee can recommend if asked nonsurgical treatments to maintain a youthful appearance, but he does not so in a less than totally professional and thoughtful way. Lastly, the office staff is superb.

Dr Micheal Lee has very poor follow up, he does not return phone call. I was promised to be called back after the visit, neither he nor his office staff called bacl and even after I called the office repeatedly he still did not call back. Very unprofessional.

I had rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Lee a few months ago. Very, very happy with the results. Dr. Lee and his staff made me feel very comfortable, they were professional and amiable.
