Dr. Michael George Leong, MD

My family & I have been Dr. Leong’s patients for years now. Our experiences have been extremely disappointing time & time again. I would’ve left & taken my family with me years ago, but his nurses are AMAZING! They pick up a lot of his slack. As his patient for many years I’ve had a lot of time to observe him and it honestly looks like he just goes through the motions & can’t wait to leave for the day. He gets more excited talking about track meets & marathons (he has pictures & plaques in all the exam rooms) rather than his patients well fair. A typical office visit is he’ll sit at his computer, barely look up at you, ask you some questions & while typing, instead of getting up to thoroughly examine (touch) you. The visit is less than five mins long (visit isn’t worth the co-pay I pay) & then he’s halfway out the door before you can even ask him questions. And heaven forbid you have questions because he makes you feel like you’re bothering him by asking it. He rushes you to where you… have to have all your questions written down before you go to see him. If you don’t, they’re not getting answered. Also, I find I’m always calling his nurses asking what else is the doctor going to do/suggest, so we can figure out what’s wrong or what could be the cause of my illness/pain/chronic issue, ect. AND I shouldn’t be the one who needs to follow up (after bloodwk, x-rays, etc), that’s his job! I finally just said enough is enough. I switched me & my family’s to another provider recently. We will miss his nurses, but we have to do what’s best for us and our health. And that’s not with him.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Leong to family and friends....and have. He's a great doctor and very professional.

Set up an appointment for my 58 year old husband who has been a patient with this doctor for 5 years plus. I went with him to the appointment and wasn't impressed. He didn't go over any chronic conditions that he had prescribed meds for in the past like his arthritis, acid reflux and allergies. The major concern was my husband has persistent hiccups for a couple of years. He has bouts that have lasted 3-8 days and was given muscle relaxers in urgent care. The Dr didn't seem too concerned about getting to the cause and said the muscle relaxers are often prescribed for hiccups. Instead he of addressing the hiccups, he noticed the inflammation in his nose and said it looks like you have allergies. He prescribed the same nose spray that my husband has had a prescription from him for years. He never mentioned he had prescribed before. He acted like it was new. He gave him a referral to an ENT for ear wax. Time for a new doctor. He probably is missing some conditions that today are minor… but tomorrow will be major. Today can be prevented. I don't recommend him for men over 50. Oh yeah.. my husband is 50 lbs overweight but generally healthy. He has normal labs...no diabetes, high blood pressure or cholesterol.

Dr. Leong is an okay doctor, but he doesn't seem to like when I ask questions--his responses are short and irritated. He treats my concerns as irrelevant. In fairness, my wife likes him better than I do, but she agrees that his manner could use some work.
