Dr. Michael Bruce Leslie, MD

Lovely person and an amazing doctor. I've been a patient of Dr. Leslie's off and on over the past ten years. He is always caring, has a great sense of humor, and is very intelligent. One of the best doctors I've known.

If you are having difficulties with meds you cannot count on him to get back to you in a reasonable amount of time--he only checks his emails a few times a wk. (and probably about the same with his voicemails) The last two shrinks I had were wonderful and not affiliated with this hospital and had I not had a short stay there I never wouldn't have even met him and he asked me if I needed a shrink (did not at the time but then my wonderful doctor retired (at 85)-so did call him when I needed a new shrink to help with my meds. He seems caring when meeting with him but not reliable getting back to you.

I completely agree with all these negative comments. Dr. Leslie is a condescending jerk. I could hear him making fun of patients when he thought no one was around- so classy.

In zero way shape or form does Michael B Leslie belong in any position of power nor authority. In reality- it is deeply concerning that he works at a “teaching hospital”..... The fact that he couldn’t even pretend to have an ounce of respect for a REAL doctor... an attending SURGEON at MGH since the early 80s- should be of GREAT CONCERN to his peers and moreover his superiors.... Imagine how he conducts himself when there is ZERO OVERSIGHT... (fact is- there IS NO OVERSIGHT on that unit) Arrogant, cocky, deplorable specimen of human life.... patients are irrelevant. His EGO kept him from contacting superiors in my case.... Or even the prescriber.... He held me like cattle... his nurse called the DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS inquiring as to “how to sedate/control a ketamine Addict” Oblivious to the fact I was a current MGH patient participating in the KETAMINE CASH ?? CLINIC!!!!! Within the department of psychiatry at MGH’s main campus!!! too proud to pick up the… phone and call my mgh docs.... or his superior running the clinic that was MORE THAN HAPPY TO TAKE MY FAMILY’s hard earned money. If the option for zero or negative stars existed..... he would receive the lowest possible rating. HE PICKS AND CHOOSES WHAT PATIENTS RECEIVE DISCHARGE SURVEYS..... i was discharged with zero aftercare plan... zero survey... and ONLY upon him learning that I requested my personal attorney present at Monday morning rounds.... instructed his staff to discharge me before he had to see me face to face!!!!!

Awful bedside manor,. Does not work with the patient. He gets quite upset is the patient does not agree with him.

Dr. Leslie is very bright but not always good about getting back to you when you are having med issues and not sure he has enough experience to be an expert on medication. So if you are a complicated patient on several meds you may want to find someone with more experience and who will call you back. Years ago shrinks did return your calls, at least mine did.

What this one patient said was totally untrue--Dr. Leslie is one of the best psychiatrist I have worked with and I have met many over the yrs. He is very empathetic and always listens to what I say, giving me good advice on how to deal with bipolar illness and much trauma I have suffered over the yrs. He can't do everything for you, you need to help yourself as well. I think this person who wrote the bad review should think again, did you even give Dr. Leslie a chance?

A psychiatrist who pathologizes his clients, and spends very little time actively listening to them. He is uncaring and has a cold bed side manner. I would not recommend him.
