Worst ! Ruined my life . Preformed unnecessary surgery wasn't truthful Dont use him.

Worst. Completely ruined my life the past number of years and now need to redo the surgery. Not recommended.

Dr Lieberman preformed a very complicated surgery on my mother, who had been diagnosed with early stage stomach cancer. She was 80 years old at the time. Dr. Lieberman was confident and compassionate during this entire ordeal. There wasn't a point in time that I felt my mother wasn't in the best of hands. The surgery was several hours and the results were nothing less than a miracle. Dr. Lieberman removed the cancer form my mothers stomach while preserving a good percentage of her stomach. Her recovery was unbelievably quick and 1 year later she is cancer free, active and eating all her favorite foods. The funny thing is, when I speak to Dr. Lieberman during follow up's, it's as if he doesn't even realize how much happiness he has giving my family by saving my mothers life. Although, I know he does. Just an amazing surgeon and person.

In 2013 I had surgery for a hernia done by Dr. Lieberman which has caused pain and problems ever since. When I saw Dr. Lieberman and he looked at the CAT scan, he said he would use a 1-inch by 1-inch mesh to seal my hernia. On the day of the surgery he notified me that I had two hernias and it would take a 2-inch by 2-inch mesh to seal. When I woke after surgery, Dr. Lieberman never came to see me to tell me about the results. From an assistant resident, I learned that he found three hernias and inserted a mesh 6-inches by 6-inches. I was in great pain that day and for weeks afterward I could not lie down or get up out of bed without great pain. I could not put on my socks nor shoes. I returned to his office and he said he would recommend a pain doctor to prescribe pain killers. I refused, went to see another surgeon who said that the surgery could not be repaired. I had an MRI and saw a gastroenterologist who also said he could not do anything. It is now five years later and I have… had pain and discomfort every day of my life. Dr. Lieberman did not inform me before surgery that I had three hernias. I would not have agreed to a 6X6 inch mesh. He apparently did not really study the Cat scan and did not face me afterwards. I now require another surgery and the large mesh is a problem.

Dr Lieberman performed hernia repair surgery on me. I really liked him and his staff. They run a tight ship and were always there to help me after surgery especially his RN, Barbara. Dr Lieberman is sharp and quite experienced. He knew exactly what questions I had and I felt like he cared. I'm not very trusting but I trusted Dr Lieberman to do my surgery. I would recommend him without hesitation

My father was at NY Presbyterian Hospital over 10 years ago, when asked about a possible surgery for his biliary duct obstruction his reply was, " I wouldn't touch him, there is nothing good there". Brilliant statement by such an overrated "surgeon". I wouldn't bring my dog to him. There is nothing good about this guy. The overall rating is "poor", I would have chosen 0 but it is not offered.

I thought he was fantastic. I didn't love his staff, esp the RN, but he was the right doctor for me.

Terrific doctor, I read the other reviews and couldn't disagree more. Dr. Lieberman is all business and I can see where someone may misconstrue his manner for lack of compassion, but he does care and is an excellent doctor! The staff is - hands down - the absolute best; they ALWAYS go the extra mile to be of help.

This doctor is the definition of every negative stereotype applied to a surgeon, Lack of care, no ability to sustain eye contact or see the patient as a person. He operated on me, and it remains one of the most negative experiences of my life. Find someone else who does not see you as a number
