Dr. Michael Lotfi, MD

He is the best doctor I have ever known.

Dr, Lofti has refused to provide patients with copies of his medical records under circumstances that include the need for out of state emergency treatment. He cannot be reached by phone. His office refuses to contact him. This is highly unprofessional behavior and subject to sanction.

Dr Lofti as a doctor was fine. In and out of the hospital room with not much quality time spent but adequate. His office staff, specifically his "office manager" Julie is condescending and incredibly rude. She refused to provide (a fax from one Dr to another Dr) medical test results from tests ordered by Dr Lofti simply because we chose follow up care with someone else. There was no regard for the care of my husband once it was known we would not be seeking care in their office.

Very sweet man, been a dialysis patient for decades and I'm glad to say I've found the last nephrologist I'll ever see.

Dr Lotfi is a blessing. He saved my life ! No other nephrologist could diagnose my issues. His office staff is phenomenal!

Firstly, I left the diagnosis blank because this was not the Doctor who diagnosed me. Dr. Lotfi was my Dr. after I had been diagnosed. In fairness, Dr. Lotfi does seem quite smart and I can see where some older patients who may not have questions might find him to be just fine. For me, being new to Kidney disease, I had questions which really only seemed to bother Dr. Lotfi. Dr. Lotfi spent the majority of my appointments typing notes slowly into his laptop with its new software and apparently patient interaction was distracting. As Dr. Lotfi shares with his patients, he has been a renal patient in the past and quite frankly I felt that rather than that translating into a higher understanding for his patients; it resulted in someone who often times was a bit too much of a know-it-all.Dr. Lotfi is likely a fine person overall, but I found his youth (and I'm around his age) and his "been there, done that" thinking to make him a poor Dr., in my opinion. My very next Dr. has remained… my main Nephrologist for several years and I have never found this issue with any other medical professional throughout the entire time.

While I have only seen the Dr. a couple of times, he has been very helpful for me. I would recommend him to a friend.
