Dr. Michael Edmund Luggen, MD

I have been seeing Dr Luggen for almost 30 yrs and I have found him to be very caring and he always makes me feel comfortable and unrushed in the time he spends with me.

As you're getting older and in great pain and have trouble thinking, it pays to make a list of things you want to speak to your doctor about, right? I had a list of four questions about meds, recent tests, etc., and as soon as he saw me pull out my paper he asked me rather rudely if I'd seen how full his waiting room was. Now I'd been a patient of his for quite awhile, but that was my last visit to him.

The first visit was wonderful, all other visits I saw Dr. Luggen less than 3 minutes, despite many questions about a severe problem with medication, he disappeared, I thought he would come back, never did (3 times, different visits). Also, follow-up visits took 3 MONTHS to book!

I have been to Dr. Luggen twice for management of RA. He spent plenty of time with me on both visits and makes me feel like a team player when choosing which meds to try, etc. Office staff here is not the best - the person who answers the phone does not have a good phone voice at all, and it's difficult to get prescriptions filled between visits. But the professionalism and knowledge of the doctor makes up for what is lacking with the front desk staff.

Dr. Luggen is very nice, thorough, and his the experience needed to be a great Doctor. He listens well, has a manner which makes you feel comfortable. I didn't write a list of all my symptoms but he kept up with my jumping around. I am very impressed with him and I have not been with other RA doctors in the past.
