Dr. Michael Jeffrey Lyerly, MD

My dad recently had a major stroke and was treated by Dr. Lyerly. My whole family was blown away by him and how fast and thorough he was. He wasted no time and did every test imaginable, I think it was 18 tests in total. We went to a different hospital before getting to Dr Lyerly at the Kirkland Clinic and the other hospital said my dad was fine and sent him home only to have another stroke the next day. Dr. Lyerly dove right into finding out the cause of the stroke and ended up having to perform surgery on his right Carotid Artery to remove 98% blockage. He saved my dad's life. He has the best bedside manner and really does care about his patients, AND their family too. He was awesome at keeping me and my family informed of everything they were doing at least 2-3 times a day. He was a God send for us and I am so grateful for him. You don't find many Neurologists that will give you the time of day, much less spend an extensive amount of time with the patient's family and working… together with them. He did just that. He never rushed us when we had questions and he never left us until we felt completely assured. He is one of the best doctors I've ever had to deal with and I would highly recommend him always!

I met Dr. Lyerly when he was still a resident. He left a huge impression on our family during a very critical time. I can still see him sitting in the chair across from me in my daughter's hospital room, which happened many times. He would sit, listen, and offer suggestions. He never came across as rushed or annoyed, and I often felt more comfortable with his opinion over the attending physician's; simply because the attendings changed, but Dr. Lyerly was with us week in and week out for many months. We trusted him explicitly. Most residents have to learn the people skills that came naturally to Dr. Lyerly. I would trust him with my daughter's care at ANY time.
