Dr. Michael Larry Macknin, MD

Michael Macknin, MD, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated summa cum laude from Ohio State University in 1971. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1975. In 1977, he completed his pediatric internship and first year of residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He completed his pediatric training with a general pediatric fellowship and outpatient chief residency at Boston Children's Hospital Medical Center in 1979. Dr. Macknin is board-certified in pediatrics and has been at Cleveland Clinic since 1982. He served as Chairman of the Department of General Pediatrics for 14 years. His primary role at Cleveland Clinic has been providing general pediatric care. He also directed general pediatric medical student clerkships for over 20 years. Dr. Macknin has multiple scientific publications, and a representative list of his awards and honors are noted below. He is currently a Professor of Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve
