Dr. Michael Francis Malizzo, MD

I waited for 6 months only to have Davita (Malizzo) perform a painful procedure on me twice, after the same procedure had no positive results the first time and after my condition had significantly worsened. Maybe it's the only procedure this guy knows, and he does it badly. In my opinion his medical license should be revoked due to malpractice. I, for one, have reported him to the New Mexico Medical Board for the following actions: Prescribing the wrong medicine. Failure to diagnose a medical problem that is found later. Failure to respond to a patient in a suicidal state due to increasing pain. Note: Davita sent out the cops instead of a medical professional to handle this situation. Response time by police was 14 hours after the situation was reported to Davita. Retaliation against a patient for posting a negative complaint on the patient portal.

My mom sees Dr Malizzo and is always so nervous about getting the shot in her spine. He in professional and treats her with respect. He is always willing to answer questions. I appreciate him very much.

He was fantastic at getting my pain addressed. Wonderful bedside manner.

He treated me for a synovial cyst in my lower spine. The treatment was very effective. His explanations were extremely clear and kind.

Went to this doctor after a three month wait to get an epidural shot to my spine. I have a ruptured disk and two cracked vertebrae. He spent two minutes with me, jabbed the shot in and pumped it so fast that it sent me into convulsions. He walked put of the room so fast that he didn't even see what the results of the shot was. Just said ok your done as he left not even looking at me. The nurse in the room said I could get up and leave. I couldn't get up at all. I was convulsing Honestly I thought I was going to die right there on the table the pain was so bad. Instead of getting the doctor to come back, she eventually left the room too. I finally was able to calm my body down enough to get up and hobble to the door one my cane. My wife was waiting to drive me home and asked what happened as soon as she saw my white face. I couldn't even talk. All I could say was lets go. I had to explain after we got home. It was the worst experience of my life. Worse than the 6 months I had to stay in… bed because I was in such excruciating pain I couldn't get up. For someone as active as I have always been, this was very bad.

Doctor made an error putting in the needle on a cortisone injection and yelled at me because I jumped when it happened. He did not complete the procedure stating that the shots just weren't meant to treat me.

Dr Malizzo was and has been very good for my situation. I would recommend him highly to anyone with back and spine problems

This Physician is known for his temper tantrums. He yells and curses at staff, techs and patients. He is impatient and inconsiderate. When he makes a mistake, he simply drops the patient.

I've been seeing Dr. Malizzo for several years. My condition is degenerative and I never know what will happen next. He has always been helpful, caring, skilled, willing to explain procedures and answer questions. I've said "ow" a few times and he never minded it.
