Dr. Michael Gilbert Marcus, MD

This review is purely based on the unprofessional behavior of 1 individual in Dr. Marcus’ office whom I believe is also his wife. She truly believes that she can treat people poorly simply because of her marital status. She has no business being in a professional environment and working around children. She is rude and cannot control her emotions since it was very clear that she was having a bad day and decided to treat myself and my family as if we were diseased criminals for not having a mask even though we were more than willing to wear one. It’s unfortunate because he seems like a nice, knowledgeable doctor. For these reasons, I will be taking my children to a different doctor and do not recommend this practice. Your staff represents you. Do better.

Dr. Marcus is excellent. Our son has been with him for over three years now and enjoys going to Dr.Marcus.

The office is impossible to reach. You will wait for months to get an appointment. In case of an emergency you will likely be speaking with a PA. As far as the doctor himself is concerned, initially I also believed all the hype. Until the time came when my child needed him most and he didnâ??t bother to call back. Several days and messages later I just gave up. A couple of pulmonologists weâ??ve seen since (including his own on-call doctor) questioned his treatment plan and pointed to major flaws in the research he based it on. He failed us miserably. Learn from our mistakes and look elsewhere.

I went to this doctor for almost a year and he never followed up with me at all even after altering my diet (I had food allergies)! He never bothered to ask if I felt any better and that is mind blowing from a doctor. He also has an office full of young snot nose girls who are rude and unprofessional. They are routinely condescending and one can only wonder why there are so many (they don't seem to do very much but hang behind the counter)and how come there aren't any guys working there? You will stand in this office because there are so many people crammed into it for allergy shots and there isn't even a magazine or chairs enough for the patients. I found another allergy doc on SI who is much much better.

It's the only Doctor that accepts my insurance in Staten Island, but is mostly for children. They accept people under the years of 50 and are non-smokers. What does my negative habits have to do with being seen as a patient or not? It's not like I'm going there to smoke. Matter a fact as an allergist that is discrimination. Maybe my diagnosis would be "You shouldn't smoke because it provokes your allergies." A doctor in this field that rejects patients within this matter seems to not know what he is doing that he limits everyone or 2. He discriminates, which is dumb in nature since regardless he is getting paid to do his job to help people and not turn their backs away from their problems. So if you smoke or over the age of 50 try searching for other allergists because this one apparently has a personal policy to be a stuck up unqualified doctor.

I was highly recommended to the Doctor by a coworker. I actually live in the next state, but he was so highly regarded I had to go see him. I cant say enough about him. He made my child feel so comfortable and didnt just give a quick diagnosis, he did many tests to make sure he was accurate. What a heck of a nice guy too. cant say enough about him. Wish all MD's had his knowledge and attitude!

I wish all Doctors are like Dr. marcus. Words can't describe how amazing he is with kids. Would recommend him to my family and friends for sure.
