Dr. Michael Steven Markoff, MD

Don't trust him. Attempted to perform a genital exam on me while performing an abdominal exam, without my assent and without warning. After I stopped him, argued with me, telling me that other boys liked when he "did it" because he made it feel good. then tried to bully me into a GU exam, telling me, "You're almost a man, why don't you grow up and just let me do it." I was 15 and knew I had the right to refuse, but he decided to disregard ethics and undress me and just put his hand in my underwear to do what he wanted. At best, he is an unethical, overzealous, dr who cares more about checking the boxes than his patients well being, and at worst, he's a predator who shouldn't have access to children. Because of him, I will never let a dr see me exposed. I'd rather die an early death than ever be violated again.

I have taken both my children to see Dr.Markoff for over 18 years. Dr has always gone out of he’s way making sure all our questions were always answered. He has alway shown patient caring & manners. Thank you Dr. Markoff A. Klein & C. Klein

Sexually assaulted me when I was younger. Played it off as nothing. Last time I checked, consent/assent is required for any exam involving the genito-urinary system. Even upon a minor. He decided that that didn't apply to him, and threw ethics away. I have no doubt he is a predator, and has avoided detection due to the sensitive nature of his position.

He explains everything very well and is always courteous.

Where should I start? I received wrong diagnoses from him, multiple times. I was seen for a musculoskeletal issue for years, yet never treated. I was told that it wouldn't affect my life, I have been disabled partly due to this since my 30s. Undid my clothing and tried to force his hand into my underwear without my consent, without warning, and when I stopped him, he lied and said he was just examining my abdomen to try to cover it up. In appropriate comments multiple times, but only when my father wasn't in the room. I urge anyone who had similar experiences with him to not only post your review, but to also file a complaint with the NJ Board of Medical Examiners. I waited too long, don't make the same mistake I did. I feel for anyone who may have suffered at his hands. I know I can't be the only one.

I really wish I would have read his reviews before going to Michael Markoff. It was my first and last time I would ever take my child to him. He was bizarre from the minute he walked in the room. Right off the bat he made my skin crawl. I figured well not everyone has the best social and my usual Dr ( DR Engel) wasnt available. He made a very odd reference to my son playing Rugby. My son is 13 and the Markoff said, " that's a sport where all the men like to get into a pile and be real manly with each other"? Even my son was like???? the whole visit met with an undertone of sliminess. Hes a creep. Please post all reviews of Michael Markoff. I think he's flying under the radar. Please do not ever take your child to him. My sin is still crawling.

I was a patient of Dr. Markoff's from the age of 7 to maybe 14. He was always rough and dismissive with both my sister and I. Neither of us wanted to see him. I am a survivor of sexual assault by a pediatrician and when I refused an intimate exam, his response was, "You're almost a man. Why don't you grow up and just let me do it." I'm now 43 and still avoid doctors due to a severe phobia. His partner, Dr. Edmund was always pleasant. I had nothing but negative experiences with Dr. Markoff.

He is rude! Does not spend enough time with you and prescribes wrong meds to my child. I like the other pediatrician that works with him. I rather take my child to the ER if he is the only one that day in the office
