Dr. Michael R Marohn, MD

I had a surgery for a paraesophageal hernia. I was a little nervous when I learned the surgery would be several hours. Dr. Marohn is very youthful and enthusiastic and I felt very confident that he would do a good job. He lived up to those expectations and then some. I'm very happy to have no symptoms since my recovery including no acid reflux.

Very good "bedside manner" has a calming effect on me.

Didn't mind the wait,it was well worth it to have a knowledgable dr. He fixed my botched first surgery. If only I had found him first. Very personable and a caring manner. Totally satisfied with his treatment and follow up visits.

Dr. Marohn was extremely knowledgeable, listened to my concerns and explained the necessary surgery in laymans terms. His residents and nurse practioner were an added help. I felt that they truly cared about my well being. I would recommend him highly!

I went to see Dr. Marohn for a Lap Chole. I had a single Gallstone for over 10 years and it was time for it to come out. I tried every natural remedy and internet trick you can imagine but none of them worked. I spent about 2 months researching the best facility and surgeon to do the procedure. First I chose Johns Hopkins (can't go wrong there) and then I found Dr. Marohn - he specializes in fixing bile duct damage created by other surgeons - so I figured he would likely not make that mistake himself. I also liked his military background being ex-AF myself. The surgery could not have possibly gone better for me. I was home about 2.5 hours after the procedure was completed on a Friday and back to work on Monday. My diet has been normal after about 1 week of recovery. I had no post-surgical pain and no issues or complications. The 4 ports on my belly have healed beautifully and are nearly invisible - probably won't see them at all in a year. In my last job I designed simulators to train… surgeons in laparoscopic techniques and met quite a few of them. In my opinion Dr. Marohn is the best. I have done the research - you won't go wrong with this great doc!

I came from out-of-state to have my surgery performed by Dr. Marohn. He is the ultimate professional and an excellent surgeon. Even though mine was an emergency situation, he took the time to insure that I fully understood all that the surgery entailed. He listened carefully and considered any input that I had. Today, I am in excellent health, largely due to the work of this doctor.

Dr Mike Marohn is probably the most talented surgeon I have ever met. After 12 surgeries, 3 performed by him, I do have a decent sample to compare against. I came to him as a complicated case, having been inappropriately closed after a laprascopic surgery, Dr Marohn persevered and eventually returned me to decent health, even operating on me at 6:00am after returning from Germany late the night before. That surgery is the last one I needed from him and the last time I allowed anyone into my abdominal section. He followed me for 3 years, working through every possible option, until only surgery was left. A rare find for a surgeon. I owe, quite possibly, my life to him. I can never return what he's given to me.
