Stay Far Away from this Doctor

Dr seems OK but then you find out he does not take United Health Care Insurance even though his office is in the Hospital that does.

He took out my Gall Bladder that was full of sludge. I had no complications and he was very patient with me. If I need another general surgery, I will call upon him. I am taking my mother to see him in 2 weeks for her gall bladder surgery with full confidence.

I am writing to thank you so much again Dr. Michael Mcandrew for your expertise with my second surgery that you performed on me this week. Dr. Michael Mcandrew's work is excellent! This is my second surgery that Dr. Mike performed on me and their were no complications, infections, or problems even though it was a long surgery. Dr. Mike is very competent with what he does and he is an expert doctor and surgeon! He is kind, compassionate, understanding, and he takes the time to listen and really cares about all his patients. He is an extraordinary Doctor and a extraordinary human bean! Don't ever change that Dr. Mike! I was a patient in need for another surgery and since Dr. Mike did an excellent job on my first surgery, I didn't want anyone else to perform the second surgery on me but him. Dr. Mike played a huge role in literally saving my life!! I will forever and always be grateful and thankful to him for that! Dr. Mike also has the best team of medical staff! All of them… are kind, very supportive and friendly. Kelly Kemper is part of his medical team and she is fantastic in so many ways! She has been with me from the beginning both professionally and even as a friend. She has been such a positive, strong influence in my life and has helped and guided me through difficult decisions and operations. She is very knowledgeable, sweet, compassionate and always helping me! She has been a huge support for me and a huge blessing! I am very grateful for her! Again, Doctor Mike, I thank you for literally saving my life with your steady hands, your awesome personality, knowledge, compassion, love and concern! More than a great Doctor, I value the fact that you are such a great listener who cares about the sanctity of each individual that you treat! Surgeons like you are real life savers and I am glad you are my Doctor! You have been an angel in disguise for me and I thank you for being there for me and for saving my life! Another wonderful experience with Dr. Mike Mcandrew taken care of in a timely manner. I feel like I am treated like family in this office.

I recently had a lumpectomy and Doctor Michael Mcandrew is my Doctor and did my surgery. He was absolutely fantastic!! I could not have asked for a better Doctor to take care of me! Even from the very beginning as my Doctor, he was always kind, compassionate, friendly, patient and spent time with me and made me feel safe and comfortable. He was also very knowledgeable about all the questions I asked of him. He always took the time to explain everything to me and cared about my concerns and my feelings. He was very understanding! He performed surgery on me and he did an excellent and perfect job and I healed with zero problems or complications. He knew exactly what he was doing and completely removed all of the cancer. : ) He always took the time to check in on me to make sure I was doing okay after the surgery. He literally treated me like I was part of his family and that meant so much to me, it really did! Doctor Mike is an expert at what he does and I am so grateful that… he is my Doctor and my surgeon! My husband was septic with appendicitis (means he has a very serious infection) I am surprised to read all of these negative reviews Dr.Mark McAndrew performed and appendectomy and exploratory surgery since he was so sick to r/o other infection possibilities, I am a wound nurse myself and was very pleased with the care he received I was a little scared going into DCH just because of the stories I have heard but I am quite sure at one of the big hospitals he would have waited hours for care they called Dr.McAndrews in from home and had him in surgery in less than an hour nurses were great (my husband thought they were slow but me being a nurse 15-20 min wait for pain meds is not bad we do get busy and don't just sit around and eat cookies although bring the cookies we like them :} ) I just wanted to put my thoughts out there I am a stickler for infection control and was very pleased with the cleanliness, prompt care and I always appreciate a doctor that is not cloud 9 because he… obtained an MD behind his name we all work very HARD!! So thank you for all that you did you certainly did save his life and I would recommend you anytime and for all the other reviews surgery is not exact science for the most part we all have the same organs but are not the same age and do not heal the same and age plays a huge roll in infection!!! Thank You Dr.McAndrews!!!!

Dr McAndrew operated on my wife's sister recently and she has had one problem after another. She got so fed up with this doctor she switched to a surgeon in Indianapolis who could not believe the POOR SURGICAL CARE she received from this doctor.

I worked as an RN at Dearborn County Hospital for many years. I found both Dr Mike + Dr Mark McAndrews to have poor bedside manner. They did not treat their patients with much respect. Dr Mike has such poor grooming it is hard to believe he is a surgeon. Often Patients had post-surgical infections which was scary. If I ever need a Surgeon my husband knows to NEVER allow Dr McAndrew near me!
