His office staff is terrible, was told I could no longer schedule appointments because over a 17 year period I had to cancel 2 appointments. Asked for my medical records and was told they would take 10 days to process. When I said that I have medications that I need refilled was told I could Follow the rules and was hung up on.

I made an appointment for a prior sustained that was acting up and starting to affect me in my daily life and at work, when I got there the office girls asked why I was there and made rude assumptions that the only reason I was there was to obtain pain meds, which was not the case. I do not feel that rude unprofessional office staff should be judging people on who deserves to be seen or who doesn't, seems unethical/unprofessional and borderline illegal. Avoid this practice at all cost, its not worth the arguing and insults their office stuff will make you endure.

My husband went in to be seen regarding ongoing numbness in his arm & hand. The doctor sent him for x-rays. My husband has called several times to get the results. All he is told is the results are on the doctors desk. No call to inform him of the results. I called to see if I could get them. The recording says they are out to lunch from 12-130. It was 1:45 that I called and they still were not back. The staff is not pleasant and the doctor seems detached and the Physicians Assistant is completely unprofessional.

My husband, like many men, will not see a doctor unless I push him (which usually doesn't work) and/or he's in excruciating pain. After weeks of watching him suffer with pain, I finally talked him into seeing my doctor, Dr. McFarland. I called the office and described the symptoms, which was mostly pain. So the appointment was set. He took time off work (which he never does) and went down there and then they (the office gals) turned him away and said they aren't seeing anyone for pain, and they strongly implied that his sole purpose there was to seek drugs/pain meds. My husband won't take anything stronger than Aleve--ever. He really just wanted a diagnosis and a referral to a specialist. So, he left without seeing the doctor because he doesn't like conflict and didn't want to argue. I called and insisted that they see him that day and they did. Again, the girls told him that they are don't give out pain meds--very insulting to a man who works hard and is dealing with pain and wants… options. The doc gave him some samples but hubby didn't want to take any of them. He didn't get much time or a referral either. It was a very unpleasant experience, and I have decided to get a different primary care physician because of it. My hunch is that this a reaction to the oil & gas industry moving in. Perhaps they are paranoid about getting a rep for giving out meds to laborers or something along those lines. But I am outraged that they would treat a patient in this way. What are you supposed to do when you have pain ,if not seek help from a physician? Now I imagine it will be even harder to get my husband to see another doctor.

Seems to just want to give another pill instead of reviewing meds I take and then making decision. Not much of a doctor.

I have no problems with Dr. McFarland. He has been my Dr. for over 20 years.
