Dr. Michael Patrick Mcgonigal, MD

Today, I attended my appointment at South Hills Family Medicine, West Mifflin location, an AHN practice. I discussed ongoing health concerns and explained that I have been actively monitoring my symptoms and seeking to identify the underlying causes of my medical issues with Brandi Duvuvei, CRNP. Ms. Duvuvei agreed to order laboratory testing. I requested additional laboratory studies. Ms. Duvuvei stated that she never heard of several of the requested tests. She indicated that she would need approval. Dr. Michael P. McGonigal entered the exam room. He stated that the requested tests would not be ordered because "we do not do those here". When I sought clarification regarding the denial, he refused to treat me and advised me to go back to a specialist. Access to my patient portal was immediately terminated. He has endangered my welfare by refusing to care for an educated patient who asks questions, and by not permitting me to retrieve my medical information from the patient portal.

He never gets back to us for refills ect, bad dr.

Although he seems like he would be a good doctor, it seems like he never has time for you. He is always busy with other stuff. I now switched to Dr. Peter Gagianas who is a million times better.

Did not address the issues that I came in for. Told me I could "keep my migraines" when I explained that I did not want to take antidepressants for them. At one point uttered "what do I know, I'm just an Irish Catholic boy" under his breath. He darted in and out of the exam room, talking very close one minute and then muttering under his breath the next. I am not exaggerating when I say that I wonder if he was off his meds that day. Told me to use a water pic on my chronically infected tonsils and that was it, nothing else. I had to have my tonsils and adenoids removed a few months later. The surgeon told me they were some of the worst he'd seen and that they absolutely should not have been in my body.
