Dr McGowen performed bunion surgery on both my feet around 14 years ago. It was a complete failure and I’ve been in constant pain ever since. I wish I could add a picture here to show you. On one foot my big toe completely crosses over my other toes-every toe is scrunched together and guess what…a profoundly huge bunion has appeared and is much bigger than it ever was. On the other foot my big toe is completely the opposite, pointing far away from my other toes with a 1.4 “ gap between my big toe and the other toes (this gap grows yearly so I replace my shoes often because my toe won’t fit).I am in constant pain. In bed, even a sheet grazing my feet hurts. And now I have knee and hip problems. Medical professionals are in absolute awe of the mess he created. I saw a PT this morning and my feet shocked him. I saw an orthopedic surgeon 3 years ago to see if he could help me. He told me that my feet are so messed up he wouldn’t know how to begin fixing them. The moment McGowen removed my… bandages both McGowen & I knew he'd done something terribly wrong. McGowen immediately wanted to operate again but thank God I got a 2nd opinion & that orthopedic surgeon told me that McGowen placed the hardware incorrectly and to NOT allow McGowen to operate again, because knowing what he’d attempt I’d probably never walk again. And, to top it off this surgeon told me that bunion surgery would NEVER had fixed the original problem I saw McGowen in the first place. So even McGowen’s recommendation was incorrect and bunion surgery was not necessary. Mcgowen’s mistakes have been life altering for me. I looked into suing but missed the 5 year statute of limitations. If you saw the mess he made, you’d avoid him at all costs. He seemed like a nice guy but trusting him with my surgery was one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in my life, not only because of the constant pain and absolute ugliness, but also because of the ongoing expense. I can’t wear revealing sandals because my misshape feet would stop traffic. Going barefoot is impossible because of the pain. I’m constantly buying new shoes, (only stretchy flat sketchers wider and bigger sizes to accommodate my wayward toes very expensive running shoes for the rest of my life. Also orthotic inserts at $500 + a pop. Just simply walking hurts, always. I doubt I have many steps left in these feet. Eventually I expect I’ll end up in a wheelchair. Every painful step I take reminds of Dr McGowen and my greatest mistake of EVER trusting him.Needless to say I absolutely do not recommend Dr McGowen. Again, I so wish I could add a picture. It’s very sad.

Appointment 1: 1 hour wait after appointment time I made well in advance. After driving 11/2 hours to office Appointment 2: Tried to fit me while others with appointments were already upset with their wait and we're rescheduling their appointments. After I tried to leave they made me an appointment for the next morning which was a sat Appt 3.. sat morning.. No show After wing 45 min after scheduled time WI'll not go back Do not recommend
