Being a professional in the insurance industry, I urge anymore considering this office to RUN! RUN now and do NOT look back. I worked with Perry. You see, the average lay person that's NOT in the dental insurance industry would probably never be able to spot the greed, deception and borderline fraud as I have, but I feel my duty to warn others about this practice, given my personal experience. Their concern is almighty dollar. They try to make their fees look legit and justified, but, when one has processed insurance claims for decades for a living, red flags are easily spotted. They come across as caring and concerned, recommending special scans and the like, however, do NOT be duped. Also, I was fortunate enough to connect with a local person that Dr McGrath has destroyed with his improper removal of amalgams/silver fillings. Yes, he seems to have all the right credentials for SAFE removals, which is what led me to him, BUT, as I later learned, that was NOT the case. After the… removal of fillings, this individual was left with mercury toxicity, and has had debilitating symptoms ever since. So, I guess their greed was Gods way of helping me avoid that same fate, as I immediately noticed very alarming issues with over-billing and "padding" fees to procure more money from insurance/patients. I see fraud all day every day in my position, and have dealt with insurance complaints for well over a decade, thus I understand billing codes, descriptions, AND I work with licensed Dentists every day. After all, I live & breath this stuff. So, when their office tried telling me that because I was bringing my own copies of recent x-rays, they would need to increase & CHANGE their normal fees to offset that fact that the DR would NOT be making $ from taking xrays, I realized what type of practice I was dealing with. Being an expert with claim patters and fees, I called them out on this unethical billing attempt to "pad" fees to compensate for this. This type of attempt is usually what you would see with DHMO plans and larger equity owned practices, such as when the providers will try to bill for unnecessary procedure to procure more $, like hygiene instruction, etc. Once the office learned I did not need xrays, thus, the DR would lose out on that EASY $$, they quickly changed/increased their other standardized fees by almost DOUBLE, and then went as far to add a bogus rare/uncommon code on the estimate to also help offset the fact that DR wouldnt be making easy $$ from taking x-rays, which was NOT a service needed or previously discussed. They failed to realize that I can not be duped, like the common person, as I see through their futile attempts to rob people and procure the most $. This Dr. also seems to perform services that are not truly needed or common, such as diagnostic casts when performing fillings, which is NOT a common practice for standard fillings, as you typically see casts being done in conjunction with ortho or when you have extensive prosthetics, etc. They do this to procure $$. You can easily adjust the bite WITHOUT casts, as millions of providers do. This is just 1 example, but I'm trying to keep it simple and straight forward. They tried to add a bogus code to my estimate to procure more $$ for a totally unecessary specialized procedure some people might done with periodontal work/history, and as a last resort type of situation, and I do NOT have any periodontal history. In conclusion, do not trust this office, run run run. I hope I was able to save at least 1 person considering this DDS. Here's to health and not being taken advantage of. I feel sorry for people that do not understand the complex insurance world & often get taken by greedy providers. My heart goes out to them, as I have witnessed so many things in my career that make you lose faith in humanity.
