Dr. Michael J. Mehnert M. D. is extremely excellent, professional and takes pride in making his patient’s feel comfortable before the procedure your coming to have done. His staff is awesome as well, even when you check in, the mannerisms are very pleasant. My experience with Dr. Mehnert was excellent and I highly, highly recommend his care and care team for treatment.

I was a patient of Dr. Mehnert after a surgery on my cervical spine. I have issues with my lumbar spine too and saw him for that, but I was starting to have symptoms with my neck / arm similar to those prior to the surgery. For a year I kept telling him something wasn't right. He made me feel like it was all in my head and kept saying there is nothing wrong with your neck. Finally after a year of me complaining he wanted to do an EMG thinking the issues I was having with my arm and hand had to be carpal tunnel, but it wasn't so he begrudgingly agreed to have me get an MRI, which unfortunately because of the prior surgery wasn't a good picture, but Dr. Hillibrand, the surgeon, thought he saw something. After more testing and the complete loss of my arm they realized my fusion didn't fuse and a bone spur grew and was pressing on my spinal cord. They had to do another surgery to correct it and after being out of work for three months I said okay I need to get back to work now and… Dr. Mehnert actually said don't push yourself you've been through a lot! I was so upset by this not because he was actually showing concern but because I wouldn't "have been through a lot" if he had listened to me instead of making me feel like I was making things up to get drugs! You know your own body, if a doctor doesn't listen to you - move on and find one who will. Prior to the original surgery on my neck they told me if I didn't do the surgery I would risk permanent nerve damage, well I listened and did the surgery and guess what -I now have permanent nerve damage in my arm/hand because I had the surgery, not because I didn't have it. I'm sure if Dr. Mehnert would have listened to me when I first started complaining about the symptoms I wouldn't have permanent nerve damage. Live and learn.

dr.mehnert was so understanding and caring about the pain i was suffering from. my own doctor told me there was nothing wrong with me and dr.mehnert took the time to listen to me and help me so i could function again.i would recommend him to anyone i know that has back problems like me.

Dr Mehnert is very caring, kind and most of all thorough. If he doesn't know the answer he reaches out to get the answer. Not many physicians will do that.
