I rarely give reviews because seldom do others impress me. Dr. Merkley and his team hit the ball outside the park. I found myself at 60yrs. with cataracts. Mine were progressing quickly and interfering with all facets of my daily life from computers to driving. In choosing my doctor I needed a person who was an intellect in his profession. It is not natural to me to allow someone to start carving on my eye with a sharp object. He answered all my questions well and tolerated my quizzing him. I could see he was focused on solving the problem. Add to this a lovely personality. The guy laughs, smiles, and is just enjoyable to be around. He listens. He even answers his own office phone if no one is available. Which tells me treats his office as a team and all his patient’s calls are important to him. He has good availability; I didn’t find myself on a waiting list just to get an appointment. My surgeries were scheduled within a week. His office stayed on top of my insurance. Now it is… all done and my eyes are better than new. Having my eye site back is a gift. Colors are now vibrant; I can see details far away. Dr. Merkley was referred to me by one of his peers, which tells me he is viewed within his own circles favorably. I strongly recommend Dr. Merkley, especially if you are a perfectionist like myself and expect a lot from a medical professional.
