He is Honest Caring n Funny

I live in San Diego but needed a bi-lateral patella femoral replacement which is not performed by the local orthopedic surgeons covered by my health insurance. Dr Messener was recommended by a friend. My initial contact was by phone but I was immediately impressed with Dr Messner's attitude. He was very direct and informative and was readily available to discuss my concerns as the surgery date approached. Tracy and Connie in the office were amazingly helpful and friendly when the paperwork became an issue. Dr Messner proved to be even better in person. He is very detail oriented and conscientious, but has a great sense of humor which helped me when the surgery needed to be more invasive than I'd expected. I am very grateful to the whole team.

I tore my rotator cuff in my right shoulder and found Dr. Messner to be very attentive and his recommendations were expert and grounded. I could easily recommend him to anyone.

I have been going to this Dr. for over a year, and not by my choice. Tracy, the receptionist is just flat out rude. Its not how you work its who you know and that is just not right. She acts like the office she works for is a jail and treats most of the patents that way too. She is not professional, I was there one time waiting for my appointment when she was on the cell phone asking her son about what to do when you get a virus on your computer at work. I think you should have been working on your customer service skills instead of surfing the internet at work. I would not recommend these people to anyone.

Dr. Messner was arrogant and very uncaring. He suggested I do physical therapy for my shoulder. Within days of my appointment, I ended up having surgery for a tear in my rotator cuff, a torn biceps and a ligament graft, as my shoulder had become detached from my clavicle. I would not see him again if he was the last ortho doctor on earth.
